NEC India Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between NEC Corporation (83%; HQ in Japan) and NEC Asia Pte Ltd (17%; HQ in Singapore)
It was established in New Delhi, India, in August 2006.

To strengthen NEC's business capabilities in India and also to expand its IT and networking businesses in the rapidly expanding Indian market, NEC India works with its customers to introduce new solutions and services for the ubiquitous networking society supported by Next Generation Network (NGN), the result of NEC's vision of NGN and IT integrated technologies.

Leveraging on NEC's unique capabilities in integrating IT and networking technologies for a diverse customer base of governments, businesses, individuals and society worldwide, NEC India customized solutions to construct large-scale, highly reliable, scalable and flexible IT/Network systems for carriers and operators such as Radio Transmission/Pasolink (CNS), Optical and Professional Support System, Support Security and Surveillance Systems, IP Telephony Solutions, Retail solutions (Hardware and Software), Private Network Solutions (Enterprise and Exchange wide EPABX, IT Telephony, KTS), High Performance Computing (Super Computers), in addition, to the sale of its IT products such as Servers, Industrial PCs, projectors and commercial display products and solutions in the Indian market.

NEC's History in India
  • 1956 Supplied 2Ghz Microwave Communication System to National Physics Research Centre, Ahmadabad (NEC's 1st export of Microwave System)
  • 1959 Received an order of Coaxial Cable Transmission System from India Post & Telegraph Department (NEC's 1st export of Coaxial Transmission System)
  • 1960 Supplied Medium wave Broadcasting Transmitter to AIR(All India Radio) having technology transfer to BEL(Bharat Electronics Ltd.) 1964 Supplied Satellite Earth Station to PTT (NEC's 1st export of Satellite Earth Station)
  • 1979 Supplied International Gateway Exchange for OCS (Overseas Communication Service) at Delhi, Bombay and Madras
  • 1981 Concluded technology transfer agreement for INSAT project with ITI for GCE (Ground Communication Equipment) and LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) with ECIL for HPA (High Power Amplifier) and antenna
  • 1984 Supplied 4 systems of Main Frame Computer (ACOS1000) to NIC (National Informatic Centre)
  • 1995 Supplied Digital Switching system for PTT
  • 2002- Started supply of Pasolink to mobile operators
  • 2003 Established NEC Business Co ordination Centre Singapore IPO Office at Chennai
  • 2006 Established NEC India at New Delhi
