Our Values & Culture
At Novartis, our performance-oriented culture and responsible approach are the foundations of our success. We recognize that our business depends on the creativity, dedication and performance of our associates. We encourage associates to focus on achievement through collaboration and innovation.
We are an equal opportunities employer and a strong proponent of Diversity and Inclusion with a significant number of women forming part of our workforce. Corporate Citizenship is an important part of how we, as a company, operate and is integral to our business. Our corporate citizenship commitment rests on four pillars: patients, business conduct, people and communities, and environmental care.
Corporate Citizenship & Work-Life Balance
The Novartis Group has established the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development (NFSD) which, in turn, set up the Novartis Comprehensive Leprosy Care Association together with Novartis India Limited. Our social responsibility project in the area of leprosy has led to a dramatic impact in its operational areas and many of the modalities have been successfully adopted by the government and other NGOs.
Novartis Hyderabad takes Corporate Citizenship and Diversity & Inclusion very seriously. Through our ‘Rainbow’ community partnership programme, we encourage associates to contribute - both financially and through volunteerism - to the community. Most recently, Rainbow has tied up with the Naandi foundation in support of their ‘adopt a girl child’ programme.
Novartis Hyderabad also believes in the value of a strong work-life balance. A state-of-the-art gym, a crèche and day-care center, together with a well-equipped recreation room and a number of spacious break-out areas allow associates the best of work, family, health and peace of mind. In addition, our ‘enLIVEen’ initiatives makes work more fun with competitions, quizzes and celebrations.
Corporate Citizenship Recognized
We have received several awards in the area of social responsibility. Among these are the TERI Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, the Civic Award for Social Awareness 2004-2005 for JEET (Joint Efforts to Eradicate Tuberculosis) by the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Golden Peacock Award for Innovative Product/Service 2004-2005 conferred by the Institute of Directors (IOD) on the Comprehensive Leprosy Care Project and more recently the Gold Pegasus Corporate Social Responsibility Award in the Contribution to Individual Welfare category by the highly regarded Reader's Digest.
