Finolex offers a variety of career opportunities for engineers across various disciplines, including instrumentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"My_Interview_Journey_Date_November_25th_2018\"><\/span>My Interview Journey (Date: November 25th, 2018)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection process for the GET (Instrumentation) role at Finolex consisted of three rounds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Written Test (Aptitude &amp; Technical)<\/li><li>Technical Interview<\/li><li>HR Interview<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Finolex_Round_1_Written_Test_Aptitude_Technical\"><\/span>Finolex Round 1: Written Test (Aptitude &amp; Technical)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first hurdle was a written test designed to assess your general aptitude and technical knowledge in Instrumentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aptitude Section:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>This section evaluated your problem-solving skills,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/what-is-logical-reasoning\">logical reasoning<\/a>, and basic English comprehension.<\/li><li>Brush up on areas like data interpretation, syllogisms, and analogies. Where MATLAB can be applicable?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: MATLAB is a high-level programming language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming. It allows users to perform matrix manipulations, data plotting and analysis, algorithm implementation, and various mathematical computations. MATLAB finds applications in engineering, science, finance, and beyond, wherever numerical computation and visualization are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is a P-code?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: P-code is a type of file generated by MATLAB&#8217;s compiler. It stands for &#8220;Portable Code.&#8221; P-code files are encrypted versions of MATLAB functions, making them harder to reverse-engineer. They are often used to distribute MATLAB code while protecting intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mention the type of operators used in the MATLAB environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: MATLAB supports various types of operators:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arithmetic operators (+, -, *, \/)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Relational operators (==, ~=, &lt;, &gt;, &lt;=, &gt;=)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Logical operators (&amp;&amp;, ||, ~)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bitwise operators (&amp;, |, ~, &lt;&lt;, &gt;&gt;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assignment operators (=, +=, -=, *=, \/=)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special operators like colon operator (:), transpose operator (.&#8217;), and element-wise operators (.* and .\/)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How will you add noise to an image in MATLAB?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: You can add noise to an image in MATLAB using functions like imnoise(). For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>noisy_image = imnoise(original_image, &#8216;gaussian&#8217;, mean, variance);<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This adds Gaussian noise to the original image with specified mean and variance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On what machines MATLAB will run?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: MATLAB can run on various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. It is also available on some mobile platforms like iOS and Android. Additionally, MATLAB can run on different hardware architectures, including x86, x86-64, ARM, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you mean by Linear Wave Shaping? Give some examples.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: Linear wave shaping refers to the process of modifying the waveform of a signal while preserving its linearity. Examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Filtering: Passing a signal through a filter to remove or attenuate certain frequencies.<\/li><li>Amplification: Increasing or decreasing the amplitude of a signal linearly.<\/li><li>Attenuation: Reducing the amplitude of a signal linearly.<\/li><li>Delay: Introducing a time delay to the signal without distortion.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are multivibrators? What is its stable state?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: Multivibrators are electronic circuits capable of generating non-sinusoidal waveforms such as square, rectangular, or sawtooth waves. They have two stable states: the &#8220;high&#8221; state (also called the &#8220;set&#8221; state) and the &#8220;low&#8221; state (also called the &#8220;reset&#8221; state).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are the basic principles of Miller and Bootstrap&#8217;s time base generator?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: Miller Time Base Generator: It uses a Miller integrator circuit where the output voltage is integrated with respect to time. A sawtooth waveform is generated at the output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bootstrap Time Base Generator: It employs a capacitor connected between the output and the input of an operational amplifier. This capacitor charges and discharges linearly, producing a sawtooth waveform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is your understanding of synchronization? Give an example.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: Synchronization refers to the coordination or alignment of multiple processes or systems to operate in unison or at the same rate. For instance, in digital communication, synchronization ensures that the transmitter and receiver clocks are aligned so that the receiver can sample the incoming signal accurately.
