The interviewer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/hr-interview-questions-tell-me-about-yourself\">asked me to tell about myself<\/a> on the telephonic interview. I chose to speak about my family and my educational background in brief.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/telephonic-interview-for-freshers\">Read detailed tips to crack a telephonic interview here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Second round at Metro Structures &#8211; face to face interview<\/h3>\n<p>My second round at Metro Structures was a face-to-face HR interview round. Over the interview, I was asked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/describe-yourself-best-answers-to-this-hr-interview-question\">describe myself<\/a> and also explain the reason why I went in for a degree in Civil Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>I was also asked some&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/civil-engineering-interview-questions-you-should-prepare\">fundamental questions on civil engineering basics<\/a>. I have listed them below for your reference.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>How do you measure concrete? <\/b>In cubic feet, cubic yards, and cubic meters<\/li>\n<li><b>Which is stronger? A solid steel rod or a hollow steel pipe?&nbsp;<\/b>From a per pound point of view, a hollow steel pipe is stronger as it can bend and it will not buckle in axial compression.<\/li>\n<li><b>Describe the force exerted by a Tacoma narrows bridge. <\/b>Force exerted to the Tacoma narrows bridge was wind resistance which led to the whole bridge acting as a system with forced vibration added to damping.<\/li>\n<li><b>Give reasons for a building collapse. <\/b>With time, a structure may become unstable. Also weak foundations, bombing attacks, demolition and natural calamities can make a building collapse.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Differentiate between&nbsp;<\/strong><b>routine maintenance and major maintenance.&nbsp;<\/b>Routine maintenance is nothing but minor repairs and a major maintenance is synonymous with total reconstruction or renovation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Later I was also asked &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/how-to-answer-hr-interview-question-what-are-your-hobbies\">What are your hobbies?<\/a>&#8221; and I spoke only about the ones I had mentioned in my resume.<\/p>\n<h3>My final round as a Civil Engineer<\/h3>\n<p>In my last and final round, I had an interaction with the MD or managing director of the company. It was a pretty interactive session. He was checking my behavior and my attitude.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it about my interview! All the best guys. Just be relaxed and believe in yourself.
