But curiosity led me to explore beyond the syllabus, into the fascinating domain of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI &amp; ML).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What began as casual experimentation in my hostel room turned into a focused career path. Through self-learning, hands-on AI projects, and online certifications, I transformed ordinary college assignments into real-world solutions. That spark led me to learn Python, followed by core machine learning algorithms and deep learning models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My first breakthrough was a simple sentiment analysis model that classified movie reviews as positive or negative. That moment felt magical and marked the beginning of a journey into the world of intelligent systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Project_1_Facial_Recognition-Based_Attendance_System\"><\/span>Project 1: Facial Recognition-Based Attendance System<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This was my first major AI project in college. I developed a system using Python, OpenCV, and face recognition libraries that could:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Detect and match student faces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mark attendance automatically in a database<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We integrated the backend with a web interface using PHP and MySQL. The system saved time for faculty and helped eliminate proxy attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Learnings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Real-world applications often require integrating multiple technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dataset quality significantly affects model accuracy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accuracy improves with diverse image training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Project_2_Spotify_Mood_Dashboard\"><\/span>Project 2: Spotify Mood Dashboard<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by the emotional power of music, I created a dashboard that decoded music mood using AI. The project included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analyzing song features (tempo, energy, danceability) via the Spotify API<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sentiment analysis of lyrics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mood-based song recommendations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This full-stack project used Python for backend logic and React.js for data visualization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Learnings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>APIs can unlock rich datasets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naukri.com\/campus\/career-guidance\/machine-learning-ml\">ML<\/a>\u00a0models can greatly enhance personalization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A clear and engaging front-end improves user interaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Project_3_NyayaMate_%E2%80%93_AI_Legal_Assistant_for_India\"><\/span>Project 3: NyayaMate \u2013 AI Legal Assistant for India<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NyayaMate was born from the desire to apply AI for social impact. This AI chatbot aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offer basic legal guidance based on Indian constitutional law<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suggest relevant past legal cases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage users through a simple and intuitive chat interface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Though still under development, the project is based on training the chatbot using domain-specific legal texts. It reflects the potential of AI in public services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Learnings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Building domain-specific AI requires tailored datasets and logic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legal and ethical accuracy is crucial<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sensitive applications demand special attention to user trust and clarity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Skills_and_Tools_Used\"><\/span>Skills and Tools Used&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout my AI journey, I learned to work with a wide variety of tools and platforms that helped me convert ideas into executable projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Libraries &amp; Frameworks: Scikit-learn, OpenCV, React.js<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development Tools: Google Colab, GitHub, VS Code, MySQL, PHP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certifications &amp; Learning Platforms:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Oracle AI Vector Search Professional<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NPTEL Internet of Things<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Various YouTube tutorials and Udemy courses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Challenges_I_Faced\"><\/span>Challenges I Faced<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Like most students exploring AI for the first time, I encountered several challenges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Debugging ML models without expert help<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lack of quality datasets, leading me to create and label my own<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Balancing self-learning with academic responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But every obstacle offered a valuable lesson and reinforced my commitment to becoming a better developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From developing a facial recognition system to experimenting with AI-powered legal advice, my journey in AI &amp; ML as a B.Tech student has been fueled by curiosity, self-motivation, and consistent learning. College is the ideal place to explore cutting-edge technologies without fear of failure.
