Features
1). Time-series storage integrated with your industrial data lake.
Amazon IoT SiteWise storage supports two types of tiers for equipment data:
i) Hot tier
- It is optimized for real-time applications.
- It stores frequently accessed data with lower write-to-read latency.
ii) Cold tier
- It is optimized for analytical applications.
- It stores data in an Amazon Simple Storage Service bucket in your account to easily integrate it with the rest of your industrial data lake.
2). Asset metrics
Two different custom computations can be created using a built-in library of operators and functions – metrics and transforms. You can define that trigger when data from your equipment arrives. You can define metrics computed at user-defined intervals and can be configured for an asset or from a group of assets.
Amazon IoT SiteWise is also used to automatically computes commonly used aggregates such as sum, average, and count over multiple periods (e.g., 1 min, 1 hour) for equipment data, transforms, and metrics.
3). Asset Modelling
The models are representations of your assets, processes, and facilities. You can easily use Amazon IoT SiteWise to build models of your physical operations to understand industrial data in your equipment quickly.
4). SiteWise Edge
Amazon IoT SiteWise includes software and SiteWise Edge, which runs on-premises to make it easy to collect, manage, process, and monitor equipment data locally before sending it to the Amazon Web Services Cloud. SiteWise Edge can be run on local hardware such as third-party industrial computers and gateway. SiteWise Edge makes use of Amazon IoT Greengrass, which provides us a local software runtime environment for edge devices to help build, locate and organize applications.
5). Gateway Management
Gateway metrics help you monitor your gateway resources' health, status, and performance; you can configure and monitor edge gateways across all these facilities and view a consolidated list of active gateways through the console or APIs. The health of gateways remotely is monitored to view the status of all of your production lines from one place.
6). Data Indigestion
Amazon IoT SiteWise supports other data ingestion methods, including the MQTT protocol via integration with Amazon IoT Core. Amazon IoT SiteWise also allows cloud applications to send data to Amazon IoT SiteWise using REST APIs.
7). SiteWise Monitor
You can automatically discover the asset data and display that has been ingested and modeled with the help of SiteWise Monitor. You have the ability to view asset data and computed metrics in near real-time or compare and analyze historical time-series data from multiple assets and periods.
8). Extensibility
Custom Edge and Cloud Applications can use query Application Programming Interface(APIs) to easily fetch asset data and computed metrics from the Amazon IoT SiteWise time-series data store or use a publish interface or subscribe interface to consume a near real-time stream of structured IoT data.
9). Alarms
To assess equipment behavior or identify performance issues, you can define and update alarms and set up alarm notifications using the Amazon IoT SiteWise console, Amazon IoT SiteWise Monitor, and Amazon IoT SiteWise SDK. Once we have defined an alarm, operators can manage the alarm workflow by taking actions to snooze or disable the alarm.
