Introduction📃
Small and medium-scale businesses contribute a good amount to the overall GDP, and hence, the proper functioning of these businesses is essential for GDP. These businesses usually have a limited budget due to which they use non-standard IoT platforms and are reluctant to invest in standard IoT platforms. Unplanned machinery failure leads to a loss of time and energy. AWS identified this gap and introduced Amazon Monitron for the rescue.

In this blog, we will discuss Amazon Monitron. So without any delay, let's get started!
What is Amazon Monitron?🤔
Amazon Monitron is an excellent end-to-end monitoring system that helps detect potential equipment failures by leveraging machine learning. It detects any issues in the machine even before they occur using machine learning. We can use it to implement predictive management systems. It is a boon for multiple businesses as it can save time wasted due to unplanned machine failures.
Amazon Monitron devices🧑💻
Amazon Monitron consists of sensors to track the data of machines, such as temperature, vibrations, etc., and gateways to share the data to Amazon Monitron using the AWS cloud. They can be purchased on Amazon. We can mount up to 20 sensors on a machine (asset) to track the details of the machine.
The sensors collect data and then share it with Amazon Monitron using the AWS cloud. A gateway is used to transfer the data, placed on factory walls, and plugged into a standard outlet.
Amazon Monitron software🖥️
Amazon Monitron has both mobile and web applications. Using the mobile application, we can handle system setup and analytics and receive notification while tracking the condition of machines. We cannot do the setup using the web application, but the rest of the features can be used.
The mobile app shows an icon for machine health as follows.
Healthy: The machine is working correctly.
Alarm: This icon indicates that at one position of the machine, the temperature and the vibration are out of the normal range, which may lead to failure. Check the machine.
Warning: This icon indicates an early failure is detected at one of the positions in the machine using machine learning and ISO vibration standard by analyzing temperature and vibration.
Maintenance: This icon indicates that someone is checking the machine after seeing the alarm.
