Introduction

In the Cloud Computing platforms, we use the computing services like storage, software, networks, servers, databases, etc., on the internet. It will increase scalability, connectivity, faster working of accessing data. These services need to be maintained and taken care of. Hence, here the concept of cloud management arrived.

What is Cloud Management?

It is the process of increasing efficiency by keeping track of the public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud. Many companies use the Cloud Management concept to govern the usage of cloud resources. Managers of IT companies use different clouds to move their workloads and control the cloud resources cost.

According to the cloud computing concept, the platform uses different technologies and gadgets to give consistent and cohesive strategies. Companies administrators manage the cloud applications, infrastructure, services, data, and control. Controlling the cost utilization and making changes is done by the company.

Need of Cloud Management

Nowadays, organizations improve their cloud computing tasks,  performance, cost optimization, and reliability on their platform when they cling to the cloud tasks.

There are many ways to implement Cloud Management tasks. Observing cost helped the companies to navigate through their complex pricing prototype.  The application works more efficiently when using good performance-enhancing gadgets with proven methodologies of architecture designs. These tools, gadgets, and strategies are used to decrease energy consumption. There is no single approach in Cloud Management to do the cloud tasks; hence, companies must decide to link particular corporate priorities and services on cloud computing platforms.

How does Cloud Management work?

Cloud Management applications collect the data essential for making decisions for keeping data in their respective clouds, like deciding what to keep in private and public clouds. It helps observe the findings needed to optimise the hybrid cloud and multi-cloud.

Public Cloud distributors generally offer their applications to control, manage, protect, and optimise their costs in the cloud platforms. However, general provider applications rarely show performance instead of staying to standard reporting. Applications and tools designed by the third-party help the public cloud platform providers manage their services, especially those companies that use multiple cloud platforms that have their own proprietary cloud management applications.

Cloud Management Platform

The concepts of a cloud management platform are to design an application-based approach that has a robust and extensive set of APIs (Application Program Interface) that will allow taking data from every place of IT structures.

Cloud Management platforms control the data, applications, content, or combination of all of three in the cloud:

  • Data Management: In Cloud Data Management, data backup is one of the disaster recovery strategies. It is an automatic process.
  • Application Management: Cloud Application Management concepts help companies control and monitor the use of cloud resources and simply extend processing and storage resources when essential.
  • Content Management: Different types of cloud stores and host contents that have different requirements for accessibility and reduce cost when a rarely needed archived task is stored in a low-cost cloud environment, having greater latency.

Tasks of Cloud Management

Given below are some tasks of Cloud Management:

                                                                                                 Tasks of Cloud Management

  • System Backups: It is essential to audit the system backup regularly to ensure that resources are restored from randomly selected files of users.
  • Vendor Lock-In: In this task management concept, managers should know how to transfer data from one service provider to another. If the company decides to change the cloud service provider, then the manager must transfer the data of the company.
  • Security Procedures: Providers have their security plans for E-commerce processing, Screening of employees, Multitenant use, and Encryption policies. The manager should know the providers' security policies and how to use them.
  • Capacity, Planning, and Scaling: In this task, the Cloud Management manager needs to take care of the company's demands in the future, their plans for the company, and the scaling capabilities of the organisation.
  • Testing and Validation: Testing the cloud management tasks and their concepts and results is mandatory. It helps in building up the error-free solution for the cloud platform.

Benefits of Cloud Management

A robust cloud management strategy is an essential component of cloud management, and it also helps improve the efficiency of IT organisations. Given below are some Cloud Management benefits:

                                                                                                     Benefits of Cloud Management

  • Provides Optimal Strategy
The Cloud Management concept gives insights into the user experience and analyzes the data processed in the cloud. Using the analysed data as a management strategy helps the companies balance their workloads better and give efficient results for managing correct capacity.
  • Persuasive Automation
The concept of Persuasion Automation states cloud software management removes manual intervention from regular tasks and workflow by automating resources and maintaining models. Cloud resources must update business policies into virtual steps that are then structured into cloud platforms.
The Cloud management concept tells how applications can find problems, solve them, make reports and send notifications to managers without using any human resources. It deducts the errors and improves the quality of data.
  • Better Cost Management
Using cloud management helps organisations understand their needs and see exactly the components they use. It helps them understand the need to use public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud. Help them determine whether there is a need for the used cloud components.
  • Ensuring Compliance
Cloud Management applications allow administrators to check the configuration of cloud and users that are out of compliance with companies' policies and guidelines. And it ensures that any cloud-related issues are resolved quickly.

 FAQs

  1. What is the difficulty faced by managing the IoT data?
There are many difficulties, some of them are below:
    a) Data Security: Dealing with data is a very crucial process. In this, we need to take care of its security.
    b) Updating to new Technology: Changing technologies is tricky as people get comfortable with older resources.
  2. What is the role of Cloud Management?
The Cloud Management platform is used to manage the cloud services used by the organisations and perform enormous functions like asset management, security and compliance activity, access control, cost management, etc.
  3. What is a Cloud Management component?
Components monitor the cloud services like storage, applications, and network. These components manage and provide audits, resource governance, etc.
  4. What is Cloud Management Suite?
It allows IT professionals to transfer their workloads to different clouds according to their needs and manage cloud resources' costs. These operations are performed in the Cloud Suite.
  5. How to develop a Cloud Strategy?
It involves both technical and business objectives. Understand the type of solution these drivers need and drivers that need to be moved to the cloud. Once you know the strategies, you can decide whether you want to use public, private, or hybrid cloud for your solution. And design a follow-up plan for the shift to the cloud.
