Introduction to iOS 14
iOS is a mobile operating system developed by Apple Incorporation exclusively for its hardware. The operating system was created in a way to provide seamless compatibility with Apple products and enhance the user experience through the development of the features deemed essential for Apple products. This operating system powers most mobile devices and is the second-most widely installed mobile operating system other than Android.
In June 2020, iOS 14 was introduced as the latest version of iOS. It is designed to incorporate additional features to adapt with various user demands in relation to the user experience. Additionally, iOS 14 version also takes into account the importance of data security and privacy, and has therefore included special features to aid in this respect.

Home Screen
In iOS 14, the home screen is redesigned to provide more customization access to its users. Bunch of application pages can be hidden by the users and a new application library is introduced that contains all the applications, which can be viewed at once. App Library
Application library is an important aspect of the navigation between applications and therefore, it can now be accessed by swiping till the end of the home screen pages. App suggestions are made on the basis of the user’s activity and they can be categorized into sorted orders of similar use such as Entertainment, Messaging, etc. All the applications downloaded from the App Store are put together in the App Library.
Widgets
Widgets have been redesigned to incorporate new designs and more information. Alteration in the appearance of the widgets is easier and all default apps have their respective widgets to be put on the home screen. A stack of 10 widgets can be made on the home screen for better accessibility and even the developers can make their own widgets.
Safari
In iOS 14, Safari is capable of translating complete webpages. A translation icon has been introduced to facilitate this feature and translation can be done into a set of many languages. Safari also provides an option to access a privacy report which shows cross-site trackers blocked by Safari itself. Safari also provides better performance now and keeps track of information so that there are no possibilities of data breach.

Compact User Interface
In iOS 14, the user interface is more compact and supports multi-tasking. For example, when a user receives a phone call then instead of occupying the entire screen, a banner is displayed so that the user can keep track of other applications also. Moreover, a picture-in-picture feature has been launched to support multi-tasking. This window can be adjusted accordingly to give users a seamless experience.
Siri
Siri’s design has also been modified to provide a compact look. On requesting any service, the information is displayed on the top whereas, Siri comes at the bottom of the screen. Siri’s information collection has also increased 20 times and it can provide answers to a broader range of questions. Furthermore, there is an update in the number of languages that can be translated.
