What is Cloud?
Cloud or Cloud computing delivers servers, storage, database, networking, developing software, deployment, analytics, security and intelligence over the internet. Cloud makes innovation more flexible and faster. It makes resources available at your hand and makes scalability easy and economical. SaaS is a component of Cloud Computing.
So SaaS companies host their applications over a cloud and provide end-users services without the pain of managing all the resources which the cloud host handles. Now that we understand and know more about SaaS and Cloud computing let's dive into our topic SaaS as a Hybrid Cloud.
SaaS in Hybrid Cloud
A hybrid cloud mixes public and private (on-premises infrastructure) cloud services. It refers to computing, storage, and services of private cloud services and public clouds such as AWS or MS Azure. Public cloud service providers, including AWS and Azure, offer scalability and cut expenditures as companies don’t have to purchase their own data centre equipment. The application is reliable as the services are distributed through multiple data centres. Private cloud services are used when an application needs a dedicated cloud infrastructure. It offers higher security, excellent control and customisation along with flexibility. Therefore choosing a mixture of both private and public cloud services (hybrid cloud) proves to be highly beneficial and brings the best of both worlds into use.
Let’s now understand the need for a Hybrid SaaS or SaaS in a Hybrid Cloud. In a SaaS model, software and associated data are hosted and stored on a public cloud. However, this reduces the cost of operation by reducing IT support costs, infrastructure costs, etc. But with SaaS hosted on a public cloud, you don't have the needed control over the application and the data. SaaS hosted on a public cloud also raises questions about security. Hybrid SaaS combines the benefits of SaaS and additionally addresses the concern of the SaaS model with more security and comprehensive user control. The application's functionality is hosted on a public cloud, and a user can access the UI, functionalities, and mechanism. However, the user data is stored in a private and encrypted cloud that ensures more security.
In Hybrid SaaS, the data is stored on a private cloud managed by the organization. The user, therefore, has more control over where to keep the data. This eliminates security concerns and ensures that the benefit of cloud-based software is not hampered or compromised. The points discussed above clearly state why major organizations adopt SaaS for their backend business service, including content management, customer relationship management, etc.

What is Saas?
SaaS, or software as a service, is on-demand access to ready-to-use, cloud-hosted application software. SaaS companies deliver applications over the cloud as a service. It reduces the need to install, manage and maintain complex software and hardware. The servers, database, code and algorithm required to run the application are hosted on the cloud and managed by the software provider.
