1. The first not-null node(of the previous level) is treated as the parent of the first two nodes of the current level. The second not-null node (of the previous level) is treated as the parent node for the next two nodes of the current level and so on.
2. The input ends when all nodes at the last level are null(-1).

We can make every node of the binary tree as the root node BST and check whether it is a BST or not.

The algorithm will be-

- We will start from the root of the binary tree and do the inorder traversal using recursion.
- For the current node
*‘ROOT'*, we will do the following-- If it is the root of a valid BST, we return its size.
- Else, we will find the largest BST in left and right subtrees.

The key observation here is that if a subtree is a BST then all nodes in its subtree will also be a BST. So, we will recurse on the binary tree in a bottom-up manner and use the information of the left subtree and right subtree to store the information for the current subtree.

The algorithm will be-

- We will keep a variable named
*‘MAX_BST’*denoting our answer. - For each node of the binary tree, we will store the following information-
*‘IS_VALID’*, denoting whether it is a BST*‘SIZE’*, denoting the size of the subtree*‘MIN’,*denoting the minimum value of data in the left subtree*'MAX',*denoting the maximum value of data in the right subtree

- For the current node
*'CURR_NODE'*we will do the following--- For the subtree to be a BST following conditions should be satisfied-
*'CURR_NODE' -> data > max value in left subtree**'CURR_NODE' -> data < minimum value in right subtree**'CURR_NODE' -> left*must be a BST.*'CURR_NODE' -> right*must be a BST.

- If the current subtree is a BST, we will update 'CURR_NODE' as-
- Set
*‘IS_VALID’*to*true.* - Set
*‘MAX_BST’*to*max( ‘SUB_BST’, ‘SIZE’ )*.

- Set
- Else, we do the following

*‘IS_VALID’*to*false*.
