    Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

    Controlling the day-to-day running of the teams under their authority
    Co-ordinating and delegating the workload within these teams as required
    Ensuring weekly timesheet receipt from staff in the company ERP system, Agresso
    Ensuring sub-contractors/consultants contracts and associated documentation are up to date
    Ensuring that Currie & Brown policies are understood, implemented and adhered to
    Completing financial reporting as dictated by Currie & Browns group management information system
    Undertaking/reviewing working capital and cashflow projections for all projects under their control and ensuring they meet Currie & Brown requirements or are reported as exceptions prior to agreeing projects
    Undertaking/reviewing resource quantity and levels for projects
    Ensuring WIP is kept to a minimum
    Ensuring invoicing and cash collection is completed in a timely manner and chasing aged debt

    Project control
    Ensuring the scope of service offered is clear and understood by those delivering the services
    Ensuring no work or additional work is undertaken without necessary authorisation from client and line manager/office leader
    Reviewing project profitability on a weekly basis and developing recovery plans for projects
    Undertaking earned value analysis (EVA) of projects
    Developing plans and strategies for recovering additional fees

    Workload forecasting
    Providing a rolling 15-month workload
    Creating a forecast of demand and generating a workload programme
    Balancing resource capacity to meet forecast demand
    Ensuring the project forecast is updated and reviewing the project profitability, WIP and resource utilisation on a monthly basis in Agresso

    Staff development
    Liaising with the line manager and HR directors on recruitment needs
    Identifying skills gaps and team needs
    Setting up and maintaining personal communications and appraisal with staff
    Ensuring timely completion of personal development reviews (PDRs)

    Customer care/marketing

    Developing, implementing and maintaining a customer care programme
    Developing and maintaining a marketing strategy and plan for the teams that reflects the overall office/SBU/Currie & Brown strategies and plan
    Identifying and targeting sectors for business development
    Identifying cross-selling of services opportunities and assisting in the development of plans to undertake
    Conducting business reviews to ensure client satisfaction with our services

    Required Candidate profile

    BE in civil engineering or advance degree in civil/MEP engineering/professional degree in quantity surveying
    A minimum of ten years technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy
    Good technical writing, client-facing and written and verbal communication skills
    Experience in QS activities for residential and commercial projects
    Well-versed in Auto CAD and related software
    Ability to handle projects independently
    Conversant with detailed specification of items as per drawings
