    Role

    The role-holder is responsible for implementing mandatory & regulatory changes, supporting transformation (New platforms, improving existing, connecting to back bone), improving process efficiency, and enabling the operations teams to focus on the delivery of exceptional customer service.

    The role-holder will interact directly with stakeholders & sponsors with limited supervision. The individual will also work with technology partners/suppliers to ensure deliverables for the given project/ change initiatives are met to scope, time, and budget as approved by business.


    What The Business Does

    Change team partners with NWM COO teams, the business and senior management to deliver agreed strategic objectives and departmental targets. We are responsible for implementing mandatory/regulatory change (Brexit, FRTB, CSDR, BRRD, RFR, SWIFT SR), supporting transformation (New platforms, improving existing, connecting to back bone) and improving process efficiency, enabling the operations teams to focus on the delivery of exceptional customer service


    Your Responsibilities


    • Builds/uses and maintains networks of colleagues and business contacts to ensure a continuous flow of relevant information. Gathers information from a broad range of sources to build a rich, robust information base about the wider business context. Build strong effective relationships with key stakeholders ( BAU teams / Technology / Front Office / Finance / Operational Risk)
    • Maintain up to date understanding of global business & ensure relationships developed with all Operating Centres & key stakeholders, facilitates work across organisational boundaries and Inspires individuals and the team to take ownership of business goals
    • Work with technology partners/suppliers to ensure deliverables for the given project/ change initiatives are met to scope, time and budget as approved by business
    • Identifies, tracks, manages and mitigates any project Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies
    • Formulates plans for achieving business objectives over a performance period, relentlessly removes barriers that constrain performance excellence and Anticipates potential problems while also taking pre-emptive action
    • Uses strategies to build a climate of continuous improvement, continually reviews delivery channels, and refines existing information, systems and processes
    • Work with technology partners/suppliers to ensure deliverables for the given project/ change initiatives are met to scope, time and budget as approved by business, formulates plans for achieving business objectives over a performance period, and relentlessly removes barriers that constrain performance excellence
    • Uses strategies to build a climate of continuous improvement, continually reviews delivery channels, and refines existing information, systems and processes

    Required Candidate profile

    The Skills That You Need

    • MBA or relevant Masters
    • 8-12 years of experience
    • Strong Business Analysis/Project Manager experience
    • Understanding of the full front to back trade life cycle
    • Comply with Our Code, all RBS policies, How we manage RBS, and if applicable How we manage our Business, and deliver against all relevant statutory, regulatory, supervisory and legal obligations. Additionally, use the Yes check to guide and support decision-making
    • Ability to execute and deliver change initiatives ranging from new business initiatives to regulatory reporting or process efficiency
    • Steps back to look at the bigger picture and is able to recognise multiple relationships between problems, issues, situations
    • Recognises the dynamics of problems, issues and situations
    • Ability to compare and contrast alternative options against different scenarios
    • Listen to what clients say and think about things from a clients perspective
    • Demonstrates connectivity by works and liaising collaboratively with others across the bank and communicates clearly monitors own style and adapts it to suit the audience
    • Is positive, enthusiastic and driven by a need to excel enjoys taking on new challenges
    • Considers the implications of different scenarios, compares the risks/benefits of implementation for options/ways forward and Supervise direct reports and their activities effectively
    • Complies with relevant Group Policies, testing and certifying (or considers and escalates) the adequacy and effectiveness of the businesss controls on a regular basis; and
    • Comfortable in a changing or ambiguous environment
    • Ability to identify and document any risks or potential problems, and have a proactive approach to proposing solutions
    • Experience/knowledge of industry wide capital markets systems (Front / Middle / Back).
    • A good understanding of investment banking products and how an Investment Bank operates
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
    • Ability to work within governance to creatively solve business challenges
    • Understanding of risk and control frameworks, including process documentation, control documentation and supervisory frameworks
