    Position Purpose & Summary:

    This position is responsible to provide legal counsel to Cargill, Incorporated and its affiliates as an in-house lawyer and will be a part of the Cargill Law Department. This position will work closely with Cargill business personnel and with other lawyers and paralegals who also provide legal counsel to Cargill.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    Contract Drafting and Negotiation - 90%

    Drafts contracts to document routine business transactions. Focuses on drafting key legal provisions to manage risk for Cargills Businesses and Functions. Drafting activity relies on ability to appropriately use templates, review key provisions, adequately counsel clients, and negotiate with counterparties to realize Cargills business objectives in the contracting arrangement. Scope of contracts includes intellectual property agreements, sales and supply agreements, vendor purchase agreements, services agreements, information technology agreements, logistics agreements, and some real estate agreements. Attention to detail and strong mastery of contract law in commonwealth jurisdiction key for success in this role.
    Articulate key questions and drive conversations centered on risk with Business/Function clients, mostly using communication via technology such as Skype or Microsoft Outlook.
    Coordination and collaboration with other Law team members to obtain subject matter input for contracts to ensure Cargill policies and procedures are followed.
    Analyzes and interprets local laws and regulations in connection with contract requests to ensure compliance.
    Partners with Law members to update and revise contracting templates for global use.
    Deal with internal clients in remote locations and across diverse cultures

    Administrative / Other Projects - 10%

    Extensive use of contract lifecycle management tool and related technologies for data input and completion of legal record materials.
    Spot and articulate gaps and areas for improvement in key legal processes.
    Support and advocate Laws continuous improvement efforts for contract management.
    Support use of Cargill Law document management systems.
    Create contract activity reports and communicate with key Law stakeholders about status on requests, key issues, and recommendations on trends for business counseling

    Qualifications
    Required Qualifications:

    Law degree and license to practice in India
    Minimum 3 years of contract drafting experience, PQE
    English fluency (written and spoken)
    Proficiency in use of contract Lifecyle management /drafting tool

    Preferred Qualifications:

    5 years of contract drafting experience
    Previous in-house counsel experience with specialized contracting focus
    Previous experience/training using contract lifecycle management system
    Foreign language skills: French, German, or Spanish are not a must but will be an advantage for the right candidate

Education-

UG: LLB - Law

PG:Any Postgraduate - Any Specialization

Doctorate:Doctorate Not Required
