    looking for Director - Legal leads and acts as the focal point on all legal aspects relating to

    - Commercial matters, litigation, general legal advisory, the end to end legal support & contracting.

    - Secretarial function and advise & resolves commercial legal matters,

    - Conducts negotiation in litigation matters, advises the business on all disputes and potential disputes,

    - Plan and execute company's legal strategy

    - Ensuring all legal aspects are handled in a swift and efficient manner

    - Provide closure to all pending litigation matters against the Company as well as legal claims brought by the Company against third parties

    - Risk management & mitigation

    - Leads and guides team in a high growth oriented MNC company operating in Data Centre industry.

    Key Activities:

    General Legal Advisory to India

    - Oversees, advises & resolve all legal matters. Provide overall direction on litigation strategies related to vendors, contracts, HR issues, etc. Acts as the main escalation and supervision point for the commercial/litigation team. Leads and guides team to provided end to end legal support to other departments such as Finance, Sales, DC Operations, SCM, and HR.

    - Conducts legal research and analysis on selected topics and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in the quality of support.

    Risk evaluation and reporting to Board :

    Manage and mitigate risks of the organization. Identify potential risks and prioritize the tolerance for risk based on the organization's business objectives. Prepare quarterly litigation reports and presenting the same to the board.

    Contract Management & Documentation :

    Support the company's Contract Management System and ensure strong coordination with various business units. Identify and proactively addresses new processes to expedite legal support, legal documentation, and management of risks. Spearhead department's improvement projects related to streamlining of documentation and contracting processes. Overseeing implementation of processes, procedures, and documentation for new services as well as maintenance of the Company's standard template agreements (including service schedules) and related documentation;

    Corporate Secretarial :

    Lead the corporate secretarial function of the organization and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Provide expertise and guidance on policy, process and systemic decisions in commercial, litigations, IP, regulatory and company secretarial work; Review periodically operations like data centre licenses & fees paid, regulatory reports filing, Board meeting arrangements, etc. through established stature, provide advice and legal expertise for resolution of issues around litigations and arbitrations, police cases, statutory filings, licensing requirements, audit findings, business investment roadblocks, land disputes, accounting & taxation, etc.

    Team Development :

    Regularly review team structure and assess talent requirements; hire the right talent in the team. Conducts goal setting and performance review for the team; Drive team development, engagement and reward initiatives; Provides training for counsel and business/sales teams on legal or related issues. Builds relationships with sales and business teams/senior managers

    Handle external authorities like Government authorities; External counsels; senior lawyers across jurisdiction; law firms; third-party vendors and suppliers;

    Internally also deals with heads of different functions and business units in company; departments such as procurement, HR, Sales, CEO office, senior management, Board of directors, auditors, members of board committees and all Legal team members

Desired Candidate Profile

    Profile :

    - L.L.M/L.L.B with 20 plus years of experience in India, out of which 5-7 years should be spent leading & handling domestic and international corporates. Experience in the telecom/ IT sector for a minimum of 8 years. Qualified Company Secretary & fellow member of ICSI

    - Experience in leading a team, broad experience in handling transactional matters, especially relating to M&A, IT service contract and outsourcing. Should have experience in working across management levels and in international business environments. Excellent communication, technical and negotiation skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple transactions.

    - Ensure all statutory reports whether monthly, quarterly or yearly are filled timely

    - Work closely with other stakeholders in leadership teams to build organizational synergy in order to close issues successfully and offer a great customer experience through timely services.

    - If required, represent a company to all the statutory bodies specific events, conferences, and seminar etc.

    - Hire good resources, train and coach them time to time. Ensure individual performance is exceeding expectations

    - Prioritize works to actively handle problems, propose effective solutions in line with corporate requirements

    - Ideally worked in a high growth oriented multinational organization dealing in B2B environment

    - Strong communication skills
