Engineering Laboratory Administrator
Job Summary:

Micron, India is looking for an IT Administrator to oversee Engineering Laboratory (Lab) IT needs and provide regular day to day IT support for the Lab teams.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Interact with various Lab teams regularly, collaborate to understand the requirements and communicate with other teams to implement IT solutions
  • Install and manage Lab servers, desktops and equipment
  • Troubleshoot operating system issues
  • Collaborate with other team members in specific domains (Network, Linux and Storage) to resolve advanced issues
  • Deploy and manage virtual machines required for the Lab customers
  • Maintain Lab IT inventory
  • Support implementation of new computer hardware and software systems and technologies
  • Assist support staff with field work as needed
  • Support Lab end-point network devices connectivity installation and troubleshooting
  • Scan and check the Lab systems for malware and virus
  • Implement the security measures to protect the intellectual property
  • Backup important Lab systems and desktops

Recommended Skills and Qualifications

  • Good understanding of computer system OS and hardware
  • Experience in Windows and Linux (Cent OS, Red Hat and Ubuntu) operating system install using PXE
  • Knowledge in configuration management system - preferably Ansible
  • Understanding of storage concepts, NFS and CIFS shares
  • Knowledge and experience in deployment using SCCM
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex Linux operating system issues
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with end-user devices
  • Understanding of Active Directory in a corporate environment
  • Understanding of enterprise network LAN, WAN and Wireless
  • Managing Windows Server experience
  • Managing Windows 7 & 10 experience
  • Proven ability to remove malware from PC's
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively both independently and within a team, with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in work
  • Exercises some independent judgment and reasoning within established guidelines
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to conduct presentations and training to small group


Bachelor's degree in IT or related degree, or equivalent work experience.
