    The Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor (VC) is an integral member of the University. This individual's responsibilities are primarily administrative, and require great diplomacy, discretion, resourcefulness, and flexibility as this individual will be working closely with a diverse range of people within and outside of the organization.

    Roles and Responsibilities of the EA to VC, so designated in relation to the authority concerned, shall be:

    - To provide direct staff support to the VC, with the primary goal of implementing the VC's vision and successfully achieving university's vision

    - To represent the VC at a variety of internal and external meetings and events involving senior management discussion on policies and procedures

    - To ensure the efficient operation of the office of VC and to carry out special projects as directed by the VC

    - To work collaboratively with senior officials and other managers in addressing crisis situations that may have a university-wide impact

    - To assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of the university strategic plan

    - To work with senior staff, to review suggested policies and to provide the VC with recommended modifications

    - Performs other duties as assigned by the VC

    - Where appropriate and required by circumstance, to serve as spokesperson for the university
