    Job Summary
    Expected to promote and lead a world class approach to Health, Safety, and the Environment amongst both FLS O&M employees and contractors through briefing, training, raising awareness and leading by example. Play a leading and critical role in promoting a culture of excellence in the areas of Health, Safety and the Environment function. Ensure that the Health, Safety & Environment Management System is applied

    Duties and Responsibilities

    SAFETY

    Ensure compliance with the relevant statutory legislation and internal company Health, Safety & Environmental standards
    Communicate clearly on information relating to potentially dangerous situations and get confirmation that they are correctly understood.
    Make sure that key equipment is working properly.
    Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
    Check for safety and cleanness in the workplace.
    MISSIONS
    Communicate the FLSmidth Group, Health, Safety & Environment Policies, System, and Guidelines to all the staff.
    Develop, implement, and maintain plant Health, Safety & Environment Policies, System, and Guidelines.
    Plan, organize and implement relevant Health, Safety & Environments activities and programs in enhancing the plant safe work culture
    Provide expert advice and support on Health, Safety & Environment issues to Plant Managers, Head of Departments, and other Functional Heads in ensuring compliance and adherence to existing relevant local legislation, FLS O&M Policies & Guidelines and best industry practices.
    Participate and advise Plant Team on Health, Safety & Environment requirements in design and installation of new and modified facilities and equipment; and the management of contractors during turnaround within the plant.
    Liaise with the local authorities on matters pertaining to Health, Safety & Environment.
    Coordinate, monitor, review, and prepare reports on plant Health, Safety & Environment activities implementation, progress and performance (which include monitoring and analyzing the statistic and trend) and act as the communication link between the plant and the Group Safety.
    Participate in plant management committees and facilitate the plant Health, Safety & Environment committees that are used as a platform to advise and manage Health, Safety & Environment topics and issues.
    Participate and advise in the development of plants Health, Safety & Environment annual objectives, targets and action plans; and formulation of Health, Safety & Environment capital and operating expenditure.
    Conduct regular plant audits and inspections, and provide recommendations with follow-up to ensure Health, Safety & Environment

    performance improvement.

    Participate in accident investigation and make sure all LTI's and serious incidents & near-misses are fully investigated, closed-out, and suitably communicated.
    Participate and contribute actively in the Group Health, Safety & Environment Network.
    Responsible for the development, implementation & management of both the environmental (ISO14001) and health and safety management system OHSAS18001)
    Develop and roll out a Health and Safety plan including training materials and programs.
    Develop and roll out an Environmental awareness program
    Compilation of audit schedule and associated records.
    Brief workforce/supervisors on Health, Safety & Environment issues, incl. toolbox talks
    Reporting and monitoring non-conformance's and corrective actions accident investigation.
    Environmental aspects / impacts evaluation and comparison.
    Provide advice on Health, Safety & Environment training
    Maintain register of local authorizations
    Maintain correspondence and associated logs
    Ensure all statutory returns are completed
    Completion of monthly Health Safety and Environmental KPIs

    Performance Criteria

    Permanent results and/or performance levels expected in connection with Management team:
    Quantitative: zero fatalities, zero lost-time incidents, zero regulatory Health, Safety & Environmental non-compliances
    Qualitative: an effective Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (as per the FLS O&M and local requirements) implemented at workplace.
    A positive development towards a safe workplace culture. Increase the Health, Safety & Environmental awareness, and knowledge of employees, contractors and other relevant parties.
    Indicators for measuring the effectiveness of the job holder:
    Continuous reduction in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions at workplace (as indicated by regular audit & inspection reports)
    A good rapport with the local relevant authorities in managing health & safety issues (if any) with minimum impact to the business activities.

Keyskills

Desired Candidate Profile

    Education

    A degree in Engineering (bachelor or masters) combined with HSE-related courses and/or
    NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma, Environmental Qualification or related qualification, Lead Auditor Training

    Knowledge and specific Experience

    Min 5 years of experience in Task-relevant Manufacturing or similar environment
    A proven knowledge of relevant Health, Safety & Environment law, and ISO 14001 / EMAS/OSHAS 18001.
    Experience of Safety, Health & Environmental auditing.
    Experience of accident investigation and reporting.
    A persistent, determined character committed to making the Plant Team excel
    Health, Safety & Environment & Commercial awareness

    Interpersonal & Management Skills

    Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
    Ability to work well within a small team.
    Self-Motivated with a proven ability to motivate others
    Excellent communication skills
    Display a drive, flair and passion for EHS results

    Language skills

    Fluent English, speaking, reading & writing
    Knowledge of one or more relevant local languages
