Job Description

Mobile Platform System Architect
As we continue to grow our Managed NAND business, we have an increasing need to build products that are truly developed with the end customer platform and system needs in mind. As a Mobile platform system architect, you will be responsible for forward-looking into the Mobile ecosystem to truly understand the system "care abouts" from a Mobile storage perspective. Understanding the critical bottlenecks on the horizon, whether related to performance or power and how these interact with the overall system is critical to our product roadmap and development charter.

Responsibilities and Tasks of You and Your Team:

  • Monitor mobile software changes, including Android Operating System, uboot, file system (EXT4/F2FS), Linux Block/ MTD/ SCSI/UFS drivers, etc.
  • Provide the mobile host perspective during the UFS device architecture and design phases to ensure optimal performance and power efficiency
  • Analyze the UFS storage device behavior and its impact over the entire Mobile platform, identify bottlenecks and propose optimizations.
  • Support our customers by integrating UFS driver changes into their platforms
  • Work with customers to analyze overall system bottlenecks and come up with prototype solutions at the host level and/or the UFS storage device level

Required Experience & Skillset:

  • Storage protocols: eMMC, UFS
  • Experience in mobile chipsets/ SoC, microprocessor and memory architectures
  • Familiar with Android OS architecture, filesystems (EXT4/F2FS), block I/O, governors and storage driver stack (Block/ MTD/SCSI/ UFS)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and understand detailed architecture with an emphasis on cost, power, performance and the system level tradeoffs between them
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently in a very fast-paced environment and adapt to daily changes
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and disciplined abilities
  • Ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, multiple geographies, as well as customers of various positions

  • Moderate.
