Global Infrastructure Operations (IO) team is looking for best-in-class IT Support Engineers to drive the operations of our Infrastructure. OpsTechIT IO Team is a global multi-service support team that provides Amazons global fulfillment centers, transportation (Middle Mile, Last Mile/Amazon Logistics and delivery stations) and specialty customer solutions (Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry and Amazon Campus) with 24x7x365 IT support for high severity events, technical deep dives, support for IT infrastructure, and Amazon Robotics. The team is also responsible for managing support services to include minor development initiatives and bug fixes. Infrastructure Operations team operates in follow the sun model with team members primarily located in India, Czech Republic, and North America.
In this role, you will work on a team of highly skilled Engineers responsible for Escalation Support for the respective eco-system. This includes the high severity support, definition and enforcement of standards, security, deployment and operations for our current and next generation network and systems.
Responsibilities of the role includes:
Provide on-call escalation support for critical and complex High Severity Incidents. Provide efficient and seamless High Severity support to rapidly resolve issues minimizing impact to site operations. Participate in deep dive and root cause analysis.
Contribute to Projects and operations workload via Trouble Ticketing and Change Management Systems. Follow the existing change policies and create, review and execute complex changes to our Infrastructure.
Work closely with our Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new technologies/products
Automate selected Infrastructure administration tasks through creation of scripts and tools. Drive and support innovation for operational excellence by identifying and implementing efficiency through tools and process optimization.
Help the team drive standards across the infrastructure to ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies.
Create and review documentation and process regarding issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
Be a part of Global support organization that provides 24x7 escalation support on rotational shift basis which requires the candidate to be flexible with work hours and working on weekends.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience 3+ years of experience in system and/or network operations. Excellent Networking and Systems fundamentals and experience in troubleshooting complex Network and Systems issues. Fundamental knowledge on Networking - TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP/S, BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols and Systems - DHCP, DNS, Virtualization and other systems related services. Should have a passion towards problem-solving with strong debugging/troubleshooting skills. Must be able to think proactively; excellent follow-through and attention to details. Ability to consistently learn new tools/technology and be ready to adapt for changes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills Results-oriented, high energy and self-motivated
Network Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, etc.) Prior experience with the design and deployment of core network & server components and associated maintenance/configuration of rulesets. Strong coding skills in one or more languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, etc.) Strong Unix base OS experience or proven ability to pick up Linux quickly
Salary: INR 8,50,000 - 12,00,000 PA.
