Location : Chennai
Practical and/ or theoretical knowledge of a production environment and its specific requirements to IT. Basic knowledge of chemical production and specific hazards involved.
Ability to meet minimum safety training requirements and apply safety standards.
Ability to detect, assess and analyze complex problem situations within the process automation and process information environment and peripheral systems.
Good communication (written and verbal) and language skills and the ability to lead a team. Mastering local language is a must for local support in the major hub sites and countries
Good Computing skills covering a broader than usual range of standard WinCompanys applications
Programming, Some programming or query language experience is required (3 to 5 years). Preferably also in Process Automation applications like DCS/ PLCs or similar.
Process information systems user skills or beyond
Basic skills in networking and IT periphery
Knowledge of data collection of process information on Microsoft Window Servers, VMS based Vax systems and the applications software that runs on these computers. (preferred)
Role requires an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Window. (required)
Computer hardware knowledge is a plus. (preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Microsoft Outlook. (required)
Must be able to be on call for some evenings and weekends for a local and global rotating call schedule. (required)
Education: Candidates with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/ Engineering, Chemical, or Instrumentation & process controls Engineering is preferred.
Support and Sustain Help Desk
Participate in an integrated team to support Process Information system applications, both in- house and commercial.
Troubleshoot process information and network problems (software and hardware) to resolve process information system problems.
Provide telephone support to diagnose and resolve system problems in operating chemical production units.
Test and develop new applications to support chemical manufacturing facility process information needs.
Work with MES Project Leads, Manufacturing Representatives, Process Control Engineers, Environmental Engineers, and Process Safety Engineers to develop, configure and implement Process Information installations.
Hands- on work in the field may be required.
