Why this role matters

The Senior Buyer-Contract Shared Services is an individual-contributor role, which involves design and implementation of various contract management activities. The role holder would be based out of the Global Procurement Operations Centre (GPOC), in Gurgaon.

The role-holder would operate in a matrix organisation, is line-managed by a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement Manager within the GPOC organisation, as appropriate.

What you'll be doing

Role holder is responsible for:

Subject Matter Expert in Contract Management Services

Accountable for managing assigned projects and supporting Contract Management Services team

Design of new contract checks and templates, and keeping these up to date as processes change, Contract repository management and checks on new contracts for relevant documentation and guiding team members with these checks, Contract reporting- clauses, volume of documents etc., Contract change tracking, legacy contract cleanse etc.

In absence of team lead, responsible for management of the teams deliverables including tracking of SLA/KPI performance etc.

Supports team lead with continuous improvement of delivery of contract management services, including identification of automation opportunities and standardisation

Key Responsibilities:

Support Contract Management Services lead in critically reviewing contracting processes to identify opportunities to deliver portions from Contract Management Services team and resultant benefits

Responsible for guiding the team through projects, setting strategy in complex situations etc.

Supports Contract Management Services Lead in continuously reviewing and improving ways of working with Procurement stakeholders

Engages with automation and transformation teams to eliminate non-value-adding tasks and automate repetitive manual tasks

Leads lower complexity special projects with external stakeholders

Required Candidate profile

Should have 6-10 years of experience post-college all or most of which should be in core Procurement or contract management functions. 2 years full time MBA would be counted towards experience

Strong understanding of Contracting and Contract Management processes

Excellent operational skills in contracting, contract terms, contract storage and management

In-depth knowledge of Source to Contract and Procure to Pay cycles

Support development of advanced contract reporting capabilities to support various BT-wide initiatives and statutory requirements such as DTR

Ability to lead development of new ways of working with multiple stakeholders and the Contract Management Services team

Should have minimum qualification of graduation (Legal/ Science/ Commerce streams preferred).

People with legal background or additional qualification in Legal/Risk areas would have advantage

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or IACCM certification or equivalent desirable

Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

Demonstrably excellent Communication, Thought Leadership, Eye for Detail & Conflict Management skills

Should demonstrate a strong knowledge of BT Organisation and Group Procurement, and good understanding of BTs products and services
