Job Description

The IT analytics and business intelligence team is responsible for reviewing analytical solutions to stakeholder groups by building, maintaining and enhancing analytic solutions in a specific function such as BI Development or Application Administration or Analytic Data Development. The team is responsible to review solutions for various stakeholder groups, and should have a sound understanding of business requirements. An ideal candidate in this team should be able to articulate analytic requirements using business and non-technical terms, while working in close partnership with cross-functional matrix teams.
Job Summary

The principle purpose of the Senior Analyst, ADE is to enable the analytical capabilities of the M&E organization at Lowes. This individual will be responsible for the ongoing management of existing applications and data assets, to include the execution of scheduled processes, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system enhancements. The Senior Analyst, ADE will work closely with M&E and other business partners to define technical requirements, create project plans, identify data sources, and implement these into new solutions. Additionally, the position will have responsibility for maintaining syndicated and ad-hoc reporting, ensuring data accuracy, multi-source data integration, and supporting the analytics teams.
In addition, the Senior Analyst, ADE is responsible for taking the lead on implementation projects, providing expertise in the problem analysis, implementation, and support phases. This individual is expected to stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, new methodologies, and provide guidance to team members.
To accomplish this, the Senior Analyst, ADE must have a balance of business acumen and strong technical skills including demonstrated knowledge of data integration, relational databases, reporting, and analytic data concepts.

Builds and maintains the data infrastructure and supports analytical functions by providing data solutions; providing expertise in structured and unstructured data concepts. Competency in data manipulation and analysis: accessing raw data in varied formats with different methods and analyzing and processing data Work with others to develop, refine and scale data management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, best practices and other issues. Knowledge of HIVE QL, an extension of SQL. If youve learned SQL and another language previously and are comfortable scripting, you could possibly pick up HIVE quickly.
Provide expert technical guidance for Data Analytics services including integration into existing technology and system management. Performs development, support, and documentation for database and data integration solutions. This includes analysis, development, and support for file exchanges, application data integration, and data warehouse extract, transform, and load (ETL). Leads development projects forecasting and analytic models and advanced reporting by maintaining a high level of expertise in these areas; being able to effectively communicate with team members and business partners.

Incorporates new innovations into existing processes, such as report design and delivery, data integration, and application development by staying current on the technology landscape and industry trends; proactively identifying new technology and capabilities. Assist in technical management of initial implementations including proof-of-concepts and pilots. Work with extended team to develop and maintain product roadmaps. The candidate will be exposed to a broad variety of emerging technologies in both a consultant as well as a solution development role.You are expected to be a key contributor as we ask you to research new areas of big data usage and develop new case developments with Teradata & Hadoops Emerging technologies. Candidate must have experience in a solution architecture & development role in some kind of large scale database technologies, including but not limited to; Teradata, DB2, Oracle, as well as at least one major Hadoop Distribution such as HortonWorks or Cloudera.

Practices project management by serving as a liaison between business partners and IT; coordinating contract resources. Provides technical expertise in translating integration designs into integration development solutions. Ensure proper integration and system performance through verified unit, systems, and acceptance testing. Develops detailed technical design of assigned projects, working with other team members. Facilitate consumers in the selection of optimal service offerings based on business drivers.


Bachelor's or Masters Degree in engineering or information technologies plus 3 to 6 years experience in Business Analysis, IT, data management or related field OR Advanced/ Masters Degree in engineering or information technology and 3 years experience in related field.
3-6 years of experience working in an agile work environment and programing in Python, Scala, R, SQL, Shell, etc.
Strong working Experience on Big Data Hadoop Tools (Hive, Pig, Spark).
Experience working in cross functional teams across a large organization in systems analysis, defining technical requirements, and performing high level design for fairly complex data engineering and analytical solutions
Experience in one or more Hadoop/Big data distributions (Hortonworks, Cloudera, etc).
Experience in moving data in and out of the above Big Data platform (Data Engineering).
Experience with engineering tools such as bug tracking and source code control systems (Atlassian tools).
Experience in building standards and reusable components for storage , processing , visulaization and monitoring as required.

Master's Degree in related field
Experience working with unstructured/big data
Experience in web-based application development focused on user experience and process automations.
Expereience with other MPP systems like Teradata, Oracle or DB2.
