Company Profile
NTT Global Networks
NTT Global Networks
NTT is one of the world's largest communications and IT services company. Over $100B USD in revenue and local presence in 88 countries with 275,000 employees. More than 80 of the top Fortune 100 are customers of NTT. Over the last decade, NTT is aggressive investing in next generation IT services portfolio and technology. NTT invests over $2.5B annually in R&D to develop solutions for future offerings. Outside of Japan, NTT is focused on serving enterprise clients. NTT is ranked as a leader in technology and solution offerings: global cloud provider, security, global network provider, data centers, global Internet backbone, application provider and system integrator. Global expansion continues to be a strategic focus for NTT. The role is for the entrepreneurial global networking business unit Virtela within NTT. Virtela runs autonomously within NTT and has a startup culture. The service offerings are focused on creating software defined asset-lite networking and security for branch offices via 50+ local cloud centers distributed globally close to enterprise branch offices. NTT-Virtela services have virtualized branch office network services to eliminate the complexity and expense of deploying multiple hardware devices at each enterprise branch office managed and monitored by NTT predictive analytics tools. "NTT is doing for enterprise networking, security and mobility what Amazon EC2 has done for storage and computing," said Michael Suby, director of Stratecast, a division of Frost & Sullivan.
NTT was the first provider to launch software defined networking and security services on a global basis along with giving enterprises control to activate services within a minute via self-service online portal. NTT-Virtela software defined network orchestration platform is developed internally and leveraging open source technology and integrates best-of-breed network and security technologies. In another first, NTT sets a new industry benchmark by becoming the world's first global provider to deploy a software defined network that provides the framework for NTT to offer a rich suite of overlay SD-WAN services for global and regional enterprises, along with industry leading SD-WAN network performance for enterprises and end-users.
NTT-Virtela has also developed an industry leading real-time network analytics portal based on big data and stream computing technologies that allows enterprises to visualize their application workload and end-to-end application performance within the enterprise network.
