    Roles and responsibilities 

    1)Manpower Planning
    Carry out Manpower planning for entire vertical by consolidating manpower requirements of all the plants
    2)Industrial Relations
    Ensure smooth Industrial Relations across plants and resolving employee grievances
    Ensure reduction in man-days lost due to strikes and lock-outs across all plant in Business Verticals.
    Formulate the organizations Industrial Relations strategy and oversee its effective implementation at all sites for cordial employee relations
    Oversee wage settlements and selection of contractors to ensure smooth industrial relations
    Oversee adherence to statutory legal & labour compliances (Factories Act, CLRA)
    Implement and supervise the changes in labor laws , as applicable from time to time
    Oversee adherence to safety guidelines
    Evaluate contractor performance on monthly basis, and liaison with government officials & union leaders to ensure healthy IR climate
    3)Plant productivity & Labour cost
    Review labor productivity of plants, and monitor the wage cost of Business Vertical and identify means to reduce it via renewing existing contract rates and/or identifying new contractors
    4)Legal & Statutory compliances
    Ensure compliances under the various labour law statutes (Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Gratuity Act, Contract Labour Act, ESI Act etc) are adhered to
    Ensure filing of necessary documents to ensure adherence to certain statutory norms. E.g. PF, Gratuity
    5)Recruitment & Selection
    Carry out Recruitment and Selection of employees from time to time.
