Job Description

Purpose of the Job
Responsible for compliance to the customers’ requirement as quality & quantity are concerned. Execution of jobs within time, cost, quality, safety parameters and all statutory and legal requirements in consultation with peer departments and team members for smooth operation of Ferro Alloy Plant. Responsible to ensure safe and smooth operation of the Plant and implement IMS standards. To develop and monitor process that will maximize stewardship, Safety, Quality and productivity.
Key Accountabilities
• Formulation of Annual Business Plan, Production, Maintenance, Safety Health and Environment, Civil.
• Maintain a safe work environment, devising safety procedures and following all safety regulation.
• Plan, Organize, direct and run optimum day to day operations to meet the production planned in ABP and customers’ expectations.
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
• Develop strategies to increase productivity and production.
• Report and track expenses to reduce the costs.
• Analyse production metrics and data to determine areas of improvement.
• Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
• Communicate strategy and results to the unit’s employees and report key results to corporate offices.
• Develop systems and procedures that track and optimize productivity standards, metrics and to meet the performance target.
• Review of SHE , Production, Maintenance and Quality Performance and necessary action plan to implement to improve the plant performance.
• Create personal Development Plan (PDP) for all directly reporting managers, provide feedback & suggest mid – course corrections to PDP.
• Complying to all the statutory requirements for the plant operations and contract workers.
• Liasoning with Govt. Mining authorities for i3 MS related and ensuring timely submission and verification of monthly Form E&F in mining office and on line submission of IBM monthly Form N & annual Form O.
• Coordination with Rly authorities for raising indents for rake and fulfilment of statutory requirements related to Rly.
• Stake holder management both Govt and Peripheral to maintain a cordial relationship.
Educational qualifications
(Threshold educational background required to execute the role)
Full Time Degree in Engineering (Metallurgy) from a AICTE recognized College.
Relevant experience
(Type/ Nature and years of relevant experience required to execute the role)
Min Exp – 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in similar field of Ferro Alloy Plant Operation
Technical Competencies
Threshold skills and capabilities required to execute the role
• Must have thorough knowledge of Metallurgy.
• Should have exposure to current trends in refractory materials.
• Should have analytical ability to resolve problems faced during furnace operation and ability to bring continuous improvements.
• Understanding the TATA STEEL safety standards and implementation of the same.
• Should be familiar with computers, able to use various statistical / qc tools.
