Roles and Responsibilities

Veeam Backup & Replication

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Plan and schedule Changes, Coordinating with different stakeholders. Perform RCA for Major Incidents.
  • Follow quality / security process defined for the engagement. Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents.
  • Create and update technical documentation (server configuration, backup and recovery procedures, etc.)
  • Prepare Weekly and monthly backup status reports
  • Fundamental knowledge of Commvault, Networker Awamar.
  • Through understanding of key Backup processes & their functionalities
  • Architectural knowledge of Backup tools.
  • Good understanding of Backup process flow (daemons).
  • Hands on knowledge of supporting L2/L3 operational activities & troubleshooting on Backup technologies such as Commvault, Networker Avamar, Symantec, HP Data protector.
  • Strong knowledge on Upgradation on Master/Media servers.
  • Strong knowledge on Migration of data from one backup tool to another.
  • Experience with Virtualization (Oracle VM or VMware), SAN and NAS technologies
  • Database (SQL, RMAN, SAP, Exchange etc.) backup configuration, troubleshooting and restorations.
  • Troubleshooting experience in backup & restore related issues
  • Strong knowledge on Duplication, De-duplication, Replication and SLPs concept.
  • Strong knowledge about virtualization (snapshot level) backups.
  • Must be familiar with some of the module based backups like Oracle, SQL, Exchange, etc.
  • Strong knowledge about Media Vaulting, archival backups.
  • Strong knowledge about networking (Master-Media-Client) communication
  • Strong knowledge about Backup Provisioning/De-Provisioning as per user requirements
  • Sound knowledge & understanding about various backup technologies around virtualised platforms.
  • Good understanding of various tape library hardware & components
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 global work environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Good understanding on ITIL process.
