Design Manager – Electrical Infrastructure

Role & responsibilities :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for Electrical Infrastructure Planning & Design to lead the electrical engineering aspects of our diverse projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, extensive experience in electrical design and planning for large-scale projects, and a proven ability to manage and execute project deliverables from concept to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of local regulations and a passion for delivering innovative and efficient electrical solutions.

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Planning, conceptualization, and detailed design of all electrical infrastructure systems for assigned projects.

2. Review electrical design calculations, drawings (SLDs, layouts, schematics), specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).

3. Review load calculations, cable sizing, protective device coordination, short circuit analysis, and earthing/lightning protection designs.

4. Ensure designs comply with relevant Indian and international standards e.g., NEC, IEC, BIS, MSEDCL, BEST Undertaking, Adani Electricity guidelines and local statutory requirements.

5. Coordinate effectively with internal teams (architecture, civil, mechanical, plumbing, procurement, project management) and external consultants (electrical consultants, contractors, vendors).

6. Implement and enforce quality control procedures for all electrical design deliverables.

7. Stay abreast of new technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes in electrical engineering.

8. Provide technical support during tendering and bidding processes.

9. Review and approve Contractors drawings and technical submissions. Act as a key point of contact for all electrical design-related queries and issues on projects.

10. Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases of electrical systems.

11. Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.

12. Manage the design and implementation of Smart City and SCADA systems in electrical distribution, focusing on intelligent grid solutions, real-time monitoring, and energy optimization. Ensure technical compliance, cybersecurity, and seamless integration with urban infrastructure through collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
