DevOps Engineer for App Delivery (Load Balancing team in Network Engineering)
This opportunity is for a Developer in the Network Domain in the DevOps role to provide engineering and automation support across Intel''s Application Delivery capability. The job includes the need to develop new capabilities, enhancements for a self-provisioning portal called Highwire. In this position you will be responsible for supporting Intel''s F5 traffic load balancing, web application firewall, Access policy Manager, Global Traffic Manager and self-provisioning portals.
You must work in a team environment that requires strong communication and partnership with group members to address their specific needs and turn requirements into code and a workable solution for internal customers, diagnose and resolve network related issues.
Responsibilities: Develop and support the automation, provisioning, and deployment of F5 load balancer and web application firewall appliances.
Work with partner organizations i.e. Security, Hosting, Application Development to gather requirements and develop and provision code to improve the self-service portal for our customers.
Ensure the code is bug free, ensure thorough validation of the changes made and works as expected with the F5 platform. Utilize Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage engineering and development workloads.
Develop clear and concise technical and process documentation. Provide level 3 engineering on-call support, with peer engineers in other geographic locations. Use of CI/CD for pre and post validation.
Automate validation tasks for pre and post deployment of F5 appliances.
Using industry best practices for code development, storing code, version control etc. Design, development, integration, and deployment of existing and future automation capabilities.
Developing use cases, customer scenarios, prototypes based on business needs.
Planning and coordination for testing of the designed application solution.
Writing functional specifications and designing specification.
Documenting changes and creating engineering/operational collateral/guidelines required to support the application post implementation
Experience using source code repository tools, like Git. Understanding of Information Security and Networking fundamentals.
Understand basic network concepts like TCP/IP, and the OSI model.
Network debug and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working with version control systems like GitHub. Experience with DevOps/Agile methodologies.
Working knowledge of development with SQL Work in the Agile team development model, ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment, and ability to juggle multiple projects.
Good organization, time and project management skills, excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess a strong sense of ownership and transparent acceptance of responsibility. Ability to work independently, be proactive and collaborative, multitask effectively.
Good communication and presentation skills to interact with customers. Self-driven, quick learner and team player.
