Role & responsibilities

EHS Supervisor in an Ammunition Manufacturing Plant is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment, focusing on the unique hazards and environmental issues including disposal of explosive materials and manufacturing processes. This role involves developing and implementing safety programs, training employees, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and ensuring adherence to regulations.


Preferred candidate profile

Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to ammunition manufacturing, including those related to explosive materials and hazardous operations.

Provide comprehensive safety training to employees on safe work practices, hazard identification, emergency procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, evaluate safety compliance, and recommend corrective actions

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes, implement preventive measures, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Ensure compliance with all applicable safety & environmental regulations, industry standards, and policies related to explosive materials and hazardous waste disposal.

Develop and maintain effective hazard communication programs to inform employees about potential risks associated with their work.

Coordinate emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, first aid, and incident containment, for various hazards in the manufacturing plant.

Identify areas for improvement in safety programs and procedures and implement changes to enhance safety performance.

Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident investigations, and other relevant documentation.

Collaborate with management, other supervisors, and employees to foster a proactive safety culture.

Ensure that employees have the necessary PPE for their work tasks and that it is properly used, stored, and maintained.


Must:

  • Diploma Safety from RLI/CLI/State board of technical education(SBTE).
  • 05 Yrs experience of plant safety function
