GIS Specialist

Role & responsibilities

This role is responsible for managing and analyzing geospatial data to support infrastructure planning and decision-making. This role involves developing GIS models, creating high-quality maps, integrating GIS systems with enterprise platforms, and implementing automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

GIS Data Management and Spatial Analysis:

Manage and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.

Conduct spatial analysis and geoprocessing tasks to support master planning and decision-making.

Integrate GIS data with other engineering and infrastructure planning datasets.

Develop GIS models to analyze land use, infrastructure networks, and environmental factors.

Standardize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes for improved accessibility.

Generate spatial reports and visualizations to support strategic planning initiatives.

GIS Mapping and Visualization:

Develop high-quality digital and printed GIS maps for internal and external stakeholders.

Implement interactive mapping solutions for real-time data visualization and analysis.

Utilize remote sensing and satellite imagery for advanced geographic assessments.

Ensure consistency in cartographic standards and symbology across all mapping products.

Support field teams with mobile GIS applications for real-time data collection and verification.

Create 3D and thematic maps to visualize complex spatial relationships.

GIS System Development and Integration:

Design and implement GIS solutions that integrate with existing enterprise systems.

Collaborate with IT teams to enhance system architecture and optimize GIS performance.

Develop and maintain GIS web applications to improve accessibility and user experience.

Ensure GIS platforms are compatible with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Implement automation tools to streamline GIS workflows and data processing.

Conduct system testing and validation to ensure seamless integration with other digital tools.

Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage budgets for GIS projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

Optimize resource allocation for GIS software, hardware, and data procurement.

Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies and guidelines.

Ensure GIS-related procurement aligns with organizational budgetary constraints.

Digitization and Automation:

Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize GIS workflows.
