Job Description

Job Title: Lead EHS (Safety) - City Side Development

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead EHS (Environment Health & Safety) for our City Side Development project in AMD, Gujarat. The ideal candidate will have 12-15 years of proven expertise in the construction industry, specifically in real estate commercial construction, hotels, malls, high-rise buildings, and airports. The role requires a strategic leader who can drive the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs while ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards. The Lead EHS will play a critical role in shaping the safety culture and performance of our projects, aligning with Adani's commitment to excellence and sustainability.

Experience

  • 12-15 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated track record in real estate commercial construction, hotels, malls, high-rise buildings, and airports
  • Proven experience in managing EHS programs and initiatives

Roles and Responsibilities

The Lead EHS will be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Develop and implement EHS strategies and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment across City Side Development projects
  • Oversee the compliance of EHS policies, procedures, and regulations at construction sites, including real estate commercial construction, hotels, malls, high-rise buildings, and airports
  • Lead the assessment of potential risks and hazards, and collaborate with project teams to establish effective control measures
  • Provide expert guidance on EHS matters, conducting regular audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with best practices
  • Champion a culture of safety excellence by driving awareness, training, and communication initiatives
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive EHS reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and innovation in EHS processes, systems, and technologies
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that CSD construction sites adhere to all safety regulations, standards, and policies, including Group Safety requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with construction projects. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Training and Education: Conduct safety training for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel. Ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about safety protocols.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Environmental Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with environmental regulations, including waste disposal, pollution prevention, and conservation efforts.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for construction sites. Coordinate drills and exercises to ensure readiness.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance activities. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Safety Culture: Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among all employees and subcontractors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends. Implement improvements to safety and environmental programs.
  • Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate effective communication and compliance.

Education Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications in EHS management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ASP, CSP) will be an advantage

Certification Required

Relevant certifications in EHS management such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ASP, or CSP are preferred.
