Job Description
Positions Required:- Lead Fire, Senior Fire Safety, Officer - Fire
Job Description:-
Manage and coordinate all fire & emergency response operations across the complex.
Assume the role of incident commander during fire, gas leak, explosion, or chemical spill emergencies in absence of Lead Fire.
Liaise with mutual aid partners as needed.
Perform scheduled inspections of fire hydrants, sprinklers, foam monitors and address the deficiencies promptly.
Develop plan for periodic testing of firefighting equipment, alarms & suppression systems.
Conduct pump house performance checks including diesel and electric pump run.
Coordinate with maintenance to execute preventive maintenance plans for fire protection systems.
Support in conducting fire safety audits and ensuring findings are addressed.
Track and close audit observations in coordination with plant departments.
Ensure Fire protection layout drawings (P&IDs, Fire water network layout and maps) are up to date and available for reference and emergency use.
Regularly update team and impart knowledge on changes in fire safety regulations and codes.
Responsible for Capex & Opex of Fire department
Ensure availability of firefighting equipment spares and maintain optimal inventory
Coordinate with internal stakeholders for proper maintenance and upkeep of firefighting equipment
Support in developing fire prevention policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), and emergency response plans aligned with Indian Standards, OISD, NFPA and company standards.
Conduct structured training programs and refreshers on fire extinguisher use, evacuation procedures, emergency roles, and first response actions.
Monitor compliance with the fire safety program through regular audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
Organize awareness sessions, Fire prevention talks, and fire safety campaigns for plant personnel to promote a proactive safety culture.
Prepare a yearly schedule of various emergency drills (fire, gas leak, chemical spill, evacuation) in coordination with HSE and plant departments.
Support in identifying skill gaps and training requirements based on team performance, risk areas, and upcoming operations.
Support in developing a training matrix covering basic, advanced, and specialized firefighting skills.
Support in creating a structured training schedule covering theory, practical’s, simulations, and refresher sessions.
