Role & responsibilities
EHS Manager for an Ammunition Manufacturing Plant is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant working environment, focusing on the unique hazards and environmental compliances associated with ammunition production. This includes developing and implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards. The role also involves training employees on safety procedures and promoting a strong safety culture within the plant.
Create and maintain comprehensive safety programs tailored to the specific hazards of ammunition manufacturing, including risk assessments, emergency response plans, and training programs.
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the plant and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Investigate all incidents and accidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate records.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to ammunition manufacturing.
Conduct regular safety training for all employees, covering topics such as hazard awareness, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
Foster a strong safety culture within the plant by encouraging employee participation in safety programs, promoting safe behaviors, and providing regular feedback on safety performance.
Track safety performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to address safety concerns.
Collaborate with other departments, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the plant's operations.
Should be aware about handling environmental compliances as per CTO of the plant.
Should be well versed with the procedure for disposal of hazardous waste and explosives.
Preferred candidate profile :
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline with 12 + yaers of experiance.
- Relevant certifications, such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP)/NEBOSH.
- Extensive knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices related to ammunition manufacturing.
- Experience in developing and implementing safety programs in a manufacturing environment.

UG:B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization
