Job Purpose

The incumbent is Adani Airports Lead Engineer with hands-on expertise to provide strategy, policy, build capacity & capability, establish systems and processes, governance, and assurance along with design standardization across Adani Airports

Functional Competencies

• Overall years of experience shall be minimum 10 years; minimum 8 recent years in Airports & rest in large scale infrastructure projects
• Experience in mechanical / electrical with exposure to various functions of instrumentation, civil, IT, etc.
• Experience in design with coordination during 1) Construction (equipment erection, piping etc.) & 2) Utility (WTP, STP, Main substation, etc.) Operations in large to medium projects
• Experience in terminals and support ancillary infrastructure projects with an Airport Operator / as Airport Operators representative – lifecycle spanning from project initiation till launch and successful operations is a preference
• Served as Lead Engineer for team size of minimum 10nos. in the recent 8 years and implemented necessary systems and processes for design review for quality assurance
• Innovation design thinking & practice featuring sustainability & technology advancements in modern aviation is preferred
• Experience with globally renowned iconic Airports at or equivalent to Changi / Heathrow Airport, etc. is an advantage
• Experience in handling the regulator & stakeholders is preferred
• Support to design reflections on Passenger-first, Revenue maximization, Operational efficiency, Security-tight, Maintenance friendly, etc.
• Adaptation to Adani’s growing Airport’s business portfolio & its dynamics
• Experience in Sustainability related efforts/ documentation in design with consultant for achieving desired LEED rating for the project
• Conversant with applicable local and international statutory norms, regulations, etc.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder relationship management skills
• Should be familiar with application of design software’s like AutoCAD, Revit etc.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy

• Set goals & priorities for the engineering Design Organization and determining actions to achieve the goals

Policy

• Establish guidelines to guide decisions and achieve rational outcomes

Capacity & Capability Building

• Develop and strengthen the resources and skillset of the engineering Design Organization.
• Training for technical skill developments for the role specific to individuals of the Engineering Design Organization

Systems & Processes

• Develop and implement processes in alignment to engineering Design organization's strategic goals
• Establish process measurement systems that align with organizational goals
• Educate and organize managers so that they will manage processes effectively

Governance & Assurance

• Govern & ensure Adani Promoters' requirements, Regulator's requirements, Concession Agreement / OMDA Agreement requirements, Quality requirements etc.

Design Standardization

• Benchmark best industry practices and standardize engineering design elements across Adani Airports to strengthen brand identity

Operations

• Coordinate with the asset Lead engineers across Adani Airports in generating engineering design delivery strategies, and system improvements. Assess and mitigate strengths and weaknesses of teams within the design organization
• Create systems and implement review mechanisms for progressive inputs on Engineering aspects.
• Drive the implementation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) including defining TATs (Turn Around Time) for all activities to ensure consistency, seamless integration, timely deliveries, and standardization of activities
• Develop close interaction with internal stakeholders to enable interdepartmental goals, objectives, and timely deliverables
• Develop Look-ahead scenarios to ensure timely course corrections critical for operation of Engineering
• Responsible to ensure timely and accurate deliveries by the Engineering departments, taking cognizance of other internal customer and stakeholder requirements.
• Conduct regular mission-meetings to ensure work is in progress as scheduled, ascertain future slippages and initiate corrective actions in advance and monitor the same for implementation
• Track project progress in engineering Design Review meetings by Asset Lead Engineers periodically
• Generate reports and give presentations across departments and to management

Financials

• Ensure adherence of engineering Design to Project Budget and Estimates
• Constant vigilance over engineering design changes and timely discussions to ensure adherence to approved budget
• Monitor budget overruns and manage P&L of the engineering design department

Educational Qualification

• A graduate degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical / Electrical from an institute of repute recognized by UGC/AICTE
• LEED AP- Sustainability, resiliency and/or climate adaptation experience preferred, but not a requirement
