Operator -Thread Cleaning / divided shell preparation

Role & responsibilities

The thread cleaning operating personnel performs manual operations on filled and milled shells. This involves cleaning out explosive residues in the shell thread. He also performs cavity calibration if necessary. At end of the cleaning, he varnishes the prescribed part of the explosive with Shellac coating prescribed on the shell drawing. Operating personnel for the thread cleaning works under supervision of the production supervisor.

1Handling shells onto the carriages

2 Cleaning machine preparation.

3 Inspection of non sparking cleaning tools.

4 Thread cleaning with non sparking tools.

5 Shellac coating on the front part of the explosive.

6 Cleaning the machine after the work completion as per SOP.

1Prepare the split shells for the filling of the explosives.

2 Disassembling divided shells after cooling down.

3 Removing of the explosive charge from the divided shell

4 Cleaning the parts of the divided shells after removal of the explosive charge

5 Preparing divided shell parts for the assembly

6 Assembling divided shell for the filling of the explosive.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification: Must: • Diploma in Chemical / Mechanical Engi-neering Desirable • Basic knowledge of 5S / 7 QC Tools

Relevant Experience:

Must: • Diploma - Minimum of 01 - 03 years relat-ed experience Desirable: • Ammunition or related industry expe-rience.
