Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Interpret and enforce relevant regulations (e.g., Explosives Rules, 2008, STEC regulations, PESO requirements and relevant state laws) related to explosives.
  • Conduct regular inspections of explosive storage facilities, transportation routes, and handling procedures to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate existing procedures for handling, storage, and transport of explosives to identify areas for improvement and ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training to personnel involved in explosive handling on safe practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate any incidents involving explosives, including accidents and near misses, to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movement logs, compliance status of storage facilities, transportation vehicle, license renewal status, training, and incident investigations.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders, including management, employees, and regulatory bodies, on compliance matters.
  • Continuously monitor compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for the storage, transportation, and handling of explosives that comply with explosive rules, standards or any other applicable legal, regulatory, requirements.

Educational Qualification:

Must:

  • BE Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Relevant domain.

Desirable

  • Six Sigma Certified
  • APQP & PPAP Documentation knowledge as Per ISO 9001:2015

Relevant Experience:

Must:

  • BE - Minimum of 05 years related experience

Desirable:

  • Working Experience in Defence Sector
  • Ammunition or related industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of different types of explosives, their properties, and safe handling procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant explosives regulations and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures for handling, storage, and transportation of explosives.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

UG:B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical
