Power Query is functionality within Microsoft Excel that allows you to access data from external sources to create databases within the spreadsheet. The tool also allows you to combine, manage and share this data within Excel in different ways.

Where is Power Query located?

In Excel 2016 or higher, including 365, Power Query is located within the "Data" in the group - "Get and transform data".

How to change the data source in a Power Query query?

In Power Query, Select File > Home > Data Source Settings. In Excel, Select Data > Get Data > Settings data source.

What are the considerations for using query parameters in Power Query?

We can create query parameters in Microsoft Excel's Power Query Editor, as seen in Power BI Desktop. Apply restrictions to the values. This can include a data type and the ability to provide a finite list of accepted values for that parameter. It is only possible to select a single value from a list of parameter values. Query parameters can also be updated using APIs.
