Journey
I have done my BTech during my studies I started doing the coding questions and participating in the interview mocks.Till then i have done a numbers of questions in all the practicing websites.
Application story
This company visited your campus for the placement. First, they took the online assessment then they called us for the interview
Why selected/rejected for the role?
I was rejected because i was not able to provide the accurate solution for the question given to me.
Preparation
Duration: 3 months
Topics: Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming System, Operating system, Database Management System
Tip
Tip

Try to do Data Structures and Algorithms based questions and firstly attempt it yourself before going to the solution, also try to do it as quickly as you can. Also prepare for theory subjects like Operating system, Database Management System, etc which I prepared through Coding Ninjas subjective notes and they are very accurate and up to mark.

1. Palindromic Substrings

Moderate

Asked in companies
MicrosoftSalesforceAmazon

You have been given a string STR. Your task is to find the total number of palindromic substrings of STR.

Example :
If the input string is "abbc", then all the possible palindromic substrings would be: ["a", "b", "b", c", "bb"] and hence, the output will be 5 since we have 5 substrings in total which form a palindrome.
Note :
A string is said to be a 'Palindrome' if it is read the same forwards and backwards.
For example, “abba” is a palindrome, but “abbc” is not.

A 'Substring' is a contiguous sequence of characters within a string.
For example, "a", "b", "c", "ab", "bc", "abc" are substrings of "abc".

2. Permutations of a String

You are given a string 'STR' consisting of lowercase English letters. Your task is to return all permutations of the given string in lexicographically increasing order.

String A is lexicographically less than string B, if either A is a prefix of B (and A ≠ B), or there exists such i (1 <= i <= min(|A|, |B|)), that A[i] < B[i], and for any j (1 <= j < i) A[i] = B[i]. Here |A| denotes the length of the string A.

For example :

If the string is “bca”, then its permutations in lexicographically increasing order are { “abc”, “acb”, “bac”, “bca”, “cab”, “cba” }.
Note:
Given string contains unique characters.
Problem approach

In Java, the final keyword is used as defining something as constant /final and represents the non-access modifier.

1) final variable :
i) When a variable is declared as final in Java, the value can’t be modified once it has been assigned.

ii) If any value has not been assigned to that variable, then it can be assigned only by the constructor of the class.

2) final method :
i) A method declared as final cannot be overridden by its children's classes.

ii) A constructor cannot be marked as final because whenever a class is inherited, the constructors are not inherited.
Hence, marking it final doesn't make sense. Java throws compilation error saying - modifier final not allowed here

3) final class :
i) No classes can be inherited from the class declared as final. But that final class can extend other classes for its
usage.

Given an array 'arr' with 'n' elements, the task is to rotate the array to the left by 'k' steps, where 'k' is non-negative.

Example:
'arr '= [1,2,3,4,5]
'k' = 1  rotated array = [2,3,4,5,1]
'k' = 2  rotated array = [3,4,5,1,2]
'k' = 3  rotated array = [4,5,1,2,3] and so on.

You are given an array/list 'ARR' consisting of N integers, which contains elements only in the range 0 to N - 1. Some of the elements may be repeated in 'ARR'. Your task is to find all such duplicate elements.

Note:
1. All the elements are in the range 0 to N - 1.
2. The elements may not be in sorted order.
3. You can return the duplicate elements in any order.
4. If there are no duplicates present then return an empty array.

Given a linked list of 'N' nodes, where each node has an integer value that can be 0, 1, or 2. You need to sort the linked list in non-decreasing order and the return the head of the sorted list.

Example:
Given linked list is 1 -> 0 -> 2 -> 1 -> 2.
The sorted list for the given linked list will be 0 -> 1 -> 1 -> 2 -> 2.
