I was preparing for campus placements when I got the opportunity to interview for Cognizant. It was a comparatively easy but a competitive journey and finally bagged an offer later.
Application story
I applied to the GenC role of Cognizant which has the designation of a Programmer Analyst Trainee post successful completion of n internship. It was an on campus placement and everything was held on superset platform.
Why selected/rejected for the role?
As a fresher, they were not looking for much in-depth knowledge but I performed well in my interview and was quite confident with how it went. I also mentioned a few mini projects which were the highlight of the interview.
Preparation
Duration: 2 months
Topics: Java, OOPS, MySql, DBMS, JavaScript, Pointers, Aptitude
Tip 1 : Never try to cover new topics in the last minute, always keep up with your preparation and revise the ones you're confident at the day before the interview.
Tip 2 : Try to stay calm and have confidence on your learnings because you know you have done your work honestly.
Tip 3 : Always greet the interviewer nicely and maintain a smile throughout the interview. It creates a good impression.

Eligibility: Students should possess consistent academic record with 60% or greater in X, XII, Diploma, UG & PG.
Tip 1 : Keep the resume restricted to a single page.
Tip 2 : Highlight the projects that you have done to create a greater impact.
Tip 3 : Never lie.

1. Check If The String Is A Palindrome

You are given a string 'S'. Your task is to check whether the string is palindrome or not. For checking palindrome, consider alphabets and numbers only and ignore the symbols and whitespaces.
Note :
String 'S' is NOT case sensitive.
Example :
Let S = āc1 O$d@eeD o1cā.
If we ignore the special characters, whitespaces and convert all uppercase letters to lowercase, we get S = āc1odeedo1cā, which is a palindrome. Hence, the given string is also a palindrome.
