Interview preparation journey

Journey
My journey into data analysis started when I realized that my previous role as an Agency Development Manager didn’t align with my passion. Despite having a stable career with Reliance Nippon Life, I felt the need for a change. I’ve always been detail-oriented and enjoyed working with numbers, which drew me to data analysis. At first, I didn’t have a strong technical background, so I started with the basics. I enrolled in a training program with Coding Ninjas, where I learned Python, SQL, Excel, and Power BI. Each tool felt like solving a puzzle, which kept me motivated. I applied my strengths in attention to detail and adaptability to grasp the concepts quickly. Now, as I prepare for interviews, I reflect on how far I’ve come. If you stay committed, focus on learning one step at a time, and leverage your existing strengths, you’ll find yourself moving toward your goals too.
Application story
I applied through the Coding Ninjas portal, and the process went smoothly. It typically involved a screening round, during which I was asked about my background and skills. This was followed by a technical round where I had to demonstrate my knowledge of SQL queries and Excel tasks, and sometimes explain my approach to analyzing datasets.
Why selected/rejected for the role?
I was rejected for the role, but the experience taught me valuable lessons. One key reason for the rejection was my lack of practical experience with real-world business data. While I had solid knowledge of tools like Python, SQL, Excel, and Power BI, the interviewer pointed out that my understanding of how to apply these tools to solve specific business problems wasn’t deep enough.

You are given a positive integer ‘N’. Your task is to print all prime numbers less than or equal to N.

Note: A prime number is a natural number that is divisible only by 1 and itself. Example - 2, 3, 17, etc.

You can assume that the value of N will always be greater than 1. So, the answer will always exist.

Problem approach

I solved the problem in Python using a for loop and the range function.
