2. Longest Valid Substring

You are given a string 'STR' consisting only of opening and closing parenthesis i.e. '(' and ')', your task is to find out the length of the longest valid parentheses substring.
Note:
The length of the smallest valid substring '()' is 2.
For example:
'STR' = “()()())” here we can see that except the last parentheses all the brackets are making a valid parenthesis. Therefore, the answer for this will be 6.
Problem approach
Step 1 : I read the question carefully and decided the language I have to write the solution in. (C++)
Step 2 : wrote the solution
Step 3 : Two test cases failed hence found mistakes
Step 4 : Yay! All cases ran.

Interviewers(2) were very polite and made me comfortable.
It took 20 min approx.
Waiting time was 2 hrs approx.
Took place around 7pm
