Journey
I started learning about basic DSA concepts. These included topics like an array, string, stack, queue, and solving questions on hacker rank. After practicing enough on Hacker Rank, I moved to advanced DSA topics on Geeksforgeeks and Leetcode.
Application story
I started preparing for my placements and found that TEKsystems has posted a job listing on LinkedIn for Software Engineer that suits my interest. After that I was selected for the interviews which consisted of 3 rounds (2 technical and 1 HR round).
Why selected/rejected for the role?
My basic concepts of all the topics were clear and I also prepared HR questions through mock interviews. I practised all the basic to medium coding question before interview.

SquadstackAmazonRazorpay

Given an array of numbers, find the maximum sum of any contiguous subarray of the array.

For example, given the array [34, -50, 42, 14, -5, 86], the maximum sum would be 137, since we would take elements 42, 14, -5, and 86.

Given the array [-5, -1, -8, -9], the maximum sum would be -1.

Follow up: Do this in O(N) time.

Problem approach

I solved it using simple approach of O(n2) complexity. Interviewer didn't asked me for the efficient approach, as he looked satisfied and moved to the question.

Coding problem2

This is a cultural fitment testing round. HR was very frank and asked standard questions. Then we discussed about my
role.

1. Basic HR Question

Why should we hire you ?

Problem approach

Tip 1 : The cross questioning can go intense some time, think before you speak.

Tip 2 : Be open minded and answer whatever you are thinking, in these rounds I feel it is important to have opinion.

Tip 3 : Context of questions can be switched, pay attention to the details. It is okay to ask questions in these round,

2. Basic HR Question

Why are you looking for a job change?

Problem approach

Tip : For an experienced professional seeking a change, this is a common question. The easiest method to respond to this question is to state that you are leaving your current work in order to advance your career. Make sure you don't criticize or speak poorly about the company where you now work.
