Hi everyone! My name is Divya B H, and I’m here to share my experience cracking the Godrej Agrovet Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) placement drive in 2018. This article will serve as a guide for aspiring engineers aiming to land a role at this prestigious FMCG giant.

I’ll break down the entire process, from application tips to interview prep, so you can approach your placement with confidence.

Godrej Agrovet – Company Overview

Godrej Agrovet, a part of the illustrious Godrej Group, is a leading name in the Indian agricultural sector. Renowned for their commitment to innovation and sustainability, they offer a plethora of products, including animal feed, crop protection chemicals, and other agri-related services.

Landing a role at Godrej Agrovet signifies immense professional growth and the opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organization.

Placement Background

At the time of the placement drive (October 8th, 2018), I was a final-year student at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru, pursuing a degree in engineering. Throughout my academic career, I actively participated in extracurricular activities and did relevant projects, and internships, which not only honed my technical skills but also fostered strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

Application Process For Godrej Agrovet

Godrej Agrovet typically visits campuses across India for placement drives. Here are some pointers to strengthen your application:

  • Having a good CGPA demonstrates your dedication and ability to grasp complex concepts.
  • Tailor your resume to showcase skills aligned with the GET role, such as technical expertise in your engineering discipline, proficiency in relevant software (if applicable), and strong analytical and communication abilities.
  • Brush up on your quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal communication skills, as these areas are often assessed during the initial screening process.

Campus Placement Day Experience

The placement day at Siddaganga Institute of Technology was a nerve-wracking but exciting experience. Here’s a breakdown of the different rounds I went through:

Round 1: Written Aptitude Test

This round assessed basic mathematics, logical reasoning, and English language proficiency. The questions were designed to gauge your problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

Preparation Tips:

  • Utilize online resources and mock tests to familiarize yourself with common aptitude test formats.
  • Practice time management to ensure you attempt all sections effectively within the allotted time frame.
  • Sharpen your mental math skills by working through basic numerical problems without relying on calculators.

Round 2: Group Discussion (GD)

The shortlisted candidates were divided into groups for a GD. This round aimed to evaluate your communication skills, teamwork abilities, and problem-solving approach in a collaborative setting.

Preparation Tips:

  • Stay updated on current affairs, especially topics relevant to the FMCG or agriculture sector.
  • Be an active listener, acknowledging and building upon the ideas of your fellow participants.
  • Express your thoughts clearly and concisely, avoiding being overly domineering or passive.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and showcase your ability to work effectively within a team.

Round 3: Technical Interview

The final round was a one-on-one technical interview with a panel from Godrej Agrovet. The focus was on assessing my core engineering knowledge and understanding of the company’s operations in the agricultural sector.

Preparation Tips:

  • Thoroughly revise core concepts from your engineering curriculum, focusing on areas relevant to the GET role description.
  • Research Godrej Agrovet’s products, services, and areas of operation within the agricultural industry.
  • Prepare insightful questions to demonstrate your genuine interest in the company and the role.
  • Be confident in your technical knowledge and articulate your thought process clearly.

Godrej Agrovet Placement Result

I’m thrilled to share that I was successfully selected for the GET position at Godrej Agrovet! The entire placement process was a valuable learning experience, pushing me to refine my technical skills and hone my communication skills. Here are some key takeaways for aspiring engineers:

  1. Start Preparing Early: Begin brushing up on your fundamentals and aptitude skills well before the placement season.
  2. Network and Research: Connect with seniors who have cracked similar roles and research the company thoroughly to understand their work culture and values.
