Hi everyone, my name is Swapnali Bait, and I’m thrilled to share my experience of getting selected as a Software Engineer at Accenture through their campus placement drive. This article will detail the entire process, from the initial application to the final interview, offering valuable insights for anyone aiming to land a similar role at Accenture.

Please note that the interview was conducted in 2019.

About Accenture

Accenture is a global professional services company, a leader in digital, cloud, and security services. They offer a dynamic work environment and a chance to work on cutting-edge projects. Getting selected at Accenture is a dream for many aspiring software engineers, and I’m here to tell you it’s achievable with the right preparation.

Their reputation for innovation, diverse projects, and a collaborative work environment highly appealed to me. The opportunity to learn from industry experts and contribute to cutting-edge solutions was a major motivator for me, to apply for the position.

Selection Process At Accenture

While some universities might have more rounds, my campus placement for Accenture consisted of two key stages:

  • Round 1: Online Assessment (Elimination Round)
  • Round 2: Final Interview (Selection Round)

Round 1: Online Assessment Test of Accenture

This online assessment was designed to evaluate various skills crucial for a Software Engineer role. Here’s a breakdown of the sections I encountered:

  • Aptitude: This section assessed my logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and quantitative skills. It included questions on data interpretation, puzzles, and basic mathematical calculations. Brush up on your analytical thinking and time management for this section.
  • Technical: This section tested my foundational knowledge of computer science concepts. It covered areas like data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and basic programming principles. Focus on core CS concepts and practice solving basic coding problems on online platforms.

Round 2: Interview Process at Accenture

After successfully clearing the online assessment, I was shortlisted for the final interview. This round focused on assessing my technical skills, problem-solving approach, and communication abilities.

The interview panel consisted of two senior software development engineers from Accenture. The atmosphere was positive and encouraging. Here’s a glimpse into the key areas they explored:

  • Technical Deep Dive: They delved deeper into specific topics from my resume, focusing on the programming languages and technologies I mentioned. Be prepared to discuss your projects in detail and explain your thought process behind code implementation.
  • Problem-Solving: They presented a coding challenge related to a real-world scenario. I was encouraged to explain my approach, break down the problem into smaller steps, and then write well-structured and efficient code. Focus on clear communication and demonstrate your ability to think logically and arrive at solutions.
  • Behavioral Questions: They asked behavioral questions to understand my work ethic, teamwork abilities, and learning approach. Be prepared to showcase your passion for software development, willingness to learn new technologies, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Placement Result – Accenture

I’m happy to share that I received the offer letter from Accenture! This entire experience was a valuable learning curve. I received the offer letter within a week after the interview. I was ecstatic to have secured the Software Engineer position at Accenture with a competitive package of INR 5.3 Lacs per annum.

Here are my key takeaways for anyone aiming to land a software engineer role at Accenture:

  • Focus on fundamentals. A strong foundation in computer science concepts is essential.
  • Practice coding regularly. Hone your coding skills by solving problems on online platforms.
  • Develop strong communication skills. Being able to articulate your thought process and explain technical concepts effectively is crucial.
  • Keep yourself updated with the latest trends and technologies in the software development industry.
  • Believe in yourself and your abilities. Project confidence during the interview process.

I hope this detailed account of my Accenture campus placement experience proves valuable to those aiming for a similar role. Remember, with hard work, dedication, and strategic preparation, you too can land your dream job at Accenture!
