My interview
I was interviewed for the position of a Business Analyst or Quantity Research Analyst at EY and the interview questions I faced were pretty simple. The cut-off set for this profile was 60% throughout school and college.
Procedure for Business Analyst Interview and Questions asked by EY Hiring Managers
My placement procedure consisted of one analytical round, two Group discussions and one face-to-face interview. Overall, the Business Analyst interview questions I faced were pretty simple.
## In the analytical test, I faced a lot of questions that covered Vedic mathematics, logical reasoning and application of short rules of reasoning.
## In my business analyst interview group discussion, I faced a topic around e-commerce. As a candidate, you must handle your GD round or group discussion topic in a stress-free and confident manner. The EY Group discussion round is easy to crack when you start or conclude the discussion in an extremely attention-grabbing manner. Also, while speaking during your EY group discussion, support the topic with interesting data rich points. No boring stuff please.
## My second round was a face-to-face personal interview. It started out with an HR interview round and the questions I was asked were expected ones. Some of them were very basic like “Tell me about yourself” and “What are your hobbies”.
In the second phase of my business analyst personal interview round, I had to answer technical questions. The questions asked to me were based on whatever I had mentioned in my CV.
Question 1: Explain your projects in detail.
Answer: I have submitted both technical and non-technical projects. I would like to explain both of them in detail.
Question 2: Here is a case study for you. If a TATA server is on fire, what would be the solutions that you would come up with?
Answer: Undoubtedly, fire suppression in the server room is a must, as per the guidelines and standard procedures of disaster recovery. But I also know that it only takes a few minutes for server failure to cause thousands of dollars’ worth of damage. So, I would immediately recommend transferring loads to standby systems and high-availability clusters.
Question 3: This question was related to risk management and financial accounting.
Answer: As a future business analyst, I applied my data analytics knowledge to answer the question.
