Landing your dream software developer job can feel like solving a complex coding challenge. But fear not, aspiring developers! This article dives deep into the interview experience of Amandeep Singh, who successfully navigated the 3-round selection process at Emicon in 2018 and secured a coveted Software Developer position with a salary of 4.45 LPA.

About Emicon Company

Emicon Advisory Services, also known as Emicon, is an IT consulting and service company specializing in Oracle Cloud Applications. They have diverse experience from partnering with Big 4 consulting organizations and offer services with a 100% commitment to excellence. Their expertise includes Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle Financials Cloud, Oracle HCM Cloud, Oracle SCM Cloud, and more.

Emicon is a company that deserves its place on your radar. They offer a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects.

Emicon Company Interview Process

Emicon’s SDE interview process is structured into three distinct rounds. Here’s a detailed breakdown of each stage:

Round 1: Technical and Aptitude Test (Online)

This initial round assessed my core technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

  • Brush up on your fundamentals of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts like encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism. Practice coding challenges on platforms like Naukri Campus to hone your algorithmic thinking.
  • Don’t neglect basic coding problems like finding prime numbers or reversing a string.

Round 2: Technical and Behavioral Interview

This round delved deeper into my technical skills and explored my cultural fit for Emicon.

  • Technical Assessment: Be prepared to discuss your past projects in detail. Explain the challenges you faced, the solutions you implemented, and the technologies you used. The interviewers might also present you with coding problems to assess your on-the-spot problem-solving skills. Here, it’s not just about getting the correct answer; your thought process and approach hold significant weight.
  • Behavioral Assessment: This part of the interview is crucial for Emicon to understand your personality and work ethic. Be prepared to answer questions about teamwork, problem-solving under pressure, and your learning style. Highlight your communication skills and your ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Round 3: HR Interview (On-site)

This final round involved a discussion with the HR representative.

  • This stage revolves around salary expectations, company culture fit, and overall enthusiasm for the opportunity. Research Emicon’s work culture and mission beforehand.
  • Express your genuine interest in the role and the company. Be clear about your career goals and how Emicon aligns with your aspirations.

My Experience and Learnings

The interview process at Emicon was comprehensive yet well-structured. Each round built upon the previous one, allowing me to showcase my skills and potential progressively. Here are some key takeaways from my experience:

  • Preparation is Key: Thorough preparation for each round is essential. Research common software interview questions, practice coding challenges, and revisit your past projects to solidify your understanding.
  • Confidence is Crucial: Project a confident and enthusiastic demeanor throughout the interview process. Your passion for software development and your eagerness to learn will shine through.
  • Communication Matters: Articulate your thoughts and solutions. Showcase your ability to communicate complex technical concepts concisely and understandably.

I’m happy to share that I successfully navigated all three rounds and received an offer from Emicon. The entire process, though rigorous, was a valuable learning experience. It equipped me with valuable interview skills and solidified my knowledge of core software development concepts and programming languages.
