Install Katalon Studio on macOS/Windows

Introduction

Let's ensure we understand the foundational concepts before delving further into the subjects. Here is a brief introduction if you are unfamiliar with Katalon Studio.           

It is a tool that is developed by KM technology. It will also help you automate Web Based Applications, Mobile Applications, and API Testing.               

This article explains how to set up Katalon Studio on Windows and mac OS.

Install Katalon Studio on mac OS and Windows

💁 Requirements

      🎯  A valid email address to create an account.

      🎯 An active Internet connection to install Katalon Studio.

Supported technology

As of Katalon Studio 7.9.1 version, we only support 64-bit Windows, mac OS, and Linux.

Download Katalon Studio

📲 Follow these steps to download :

1️⃣ Go to the website.               

2️⃣ Use an active email address, create an account, or sign in if you already have one.

3️⃣ Go to the product download page by clicking here: Katalon Studio Download.

           4️⃣ Choose and download the version that is best for your system.

Start in mac OS

💁 Follow these steps to start on the mac OS

1. After downloading the .dmg file, double-click on it to proceed with the installation.
    
2. When prompted, add Katalon Studio to the Application folder.
    
3. Double-clicking the application will launch it.

Start on Windows

💁 Follow these steps to start on Windows

1️⃣ Extract the.zip file to the C:\Users\<username> folder after downloading it.

Note: For Windows users, make sure the current user has Read/Write permission for the or runs the program with administrator privileges if you are extracting Katalon Studio outside of the C:\Users\<username> folder.
 

2️⃣ Double-click the katalon.exe file to start.

🍀 To prevent the name field from not appearing on some pop-up windows, make sure that Katalon Studio and your current OS are both set to use the default font size (set to 100%). How to change the font size:
 

💡 You can refer to the Microsoft document: Edit the font size for Windows.

💡 For Katalon Studio: Access Colors and Fonts by going to Window>  

 Preferences > General > Appearance. Choose Dialog Font, then change the font size.

Activate Katalon Studio

💁 Follow these steps to activate.

1️⃣ The  Activation dialogue first appears after the app has launched. To activate your licence, log into your account.

2️⃣ When done, click Activate.
