When does Azure update the Status page with new communications?
The majority of our service issue notifications are issued directly to the customers and partners who will be impacted. Scenario 1: Broad impact involving multiple regions, zones, or services- A service problem affects a large/significant number of services for the entire region or many regions. Due to the possibility that customer-configured durability, such as high availability and disaster recovery, may not be adequate to prevent disruption, we are notifying you in this scenario.
Scenario 2: Azure portal/Service Health not accessible- You cannot access the Azure portal or Azure Service Health due to a service issue, which impacts the previously mentioned standard outage communications method.
Scenario 3: Service Impactt, but not precisely is affected yet- Although we cannot confirm which customers, regions, or services are impacted, the service outage has a wide/significant impact on customers. Since we can't send specific communications in this situation, we instead provide updates for the general public.
When does Azure update the Status History page with RCAs?
The Azure status history page allows you to explore earlier occurrences even though the Azure status page always displays the most recent health data. The history page includes all Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for incidents that happened on November 20, 2019, or later, and will offer a 5-year RCA history starting on that date. There are no RCAs available before November 20, 2019.
The Azure status history page will only be utilized to deliver RCAs for scenario one after June 1, 2022. For service issues that had the most significant impact, such as those that had an impact across many services and regions, we are dedicated to publishing RCAs in the public domain. We post so that all our customers and the industry can benefit from our evaluations of these problems and know what efforts we take to reduce their likelihood and severity in the future.
When our standard, targeted communications don't succeed in reaching every affected client, as in scenarios 2 and 3 above, we may communicate publicly on the Status page during the impact. Unknown
Unknown indicates that more than ten minutes have passed since Resource Health received information about the resource. When virtual machines have been reallocated, this frequently happens. Even though this status isn't a clear indication of the resource's condition, it might be a crucial piece of information while troubleshooting.
After a few minutes, the status of the resource will change to Available if everything is functioning as it should.
