Introduction

UGC NET is a well-known exam for people interested in the research domain. This article will discuss the application process of UGC NET in detail. We will guide you with the step-by-step instructions which you have to follow to apply for UGC NET 2022. Along with this, we will also provide the necessary details on each step.

UGC NET 2022

Before filing the UGC NET application form, the first step is to check the eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification, etc., of the exam and proceed only when they are eligible for the exam.

Step-1: Registration

1. Visit the official website of UGC NET.
2. Click on the ‘Online Registration’ link.
3. Carefully fill in your details. The candidate’s name, father’s, and mother’s name should be filled in capital letters.
4. Please enter your date of birth according to your class 10 mark sheet in dd/mm/yyyy format.
5. Note the Application number generated by the system for future reference.

Step-2: Filling the Application form

1. Click on the complete Application form button and fill in the necessary details to log in to the portal.
2. ‘Personal Details’ section: You need to fill in the below-given details in this section.
   Name, Gender, Nationality, PwD category option, Minority community option, Date of Birth, Single girl child option, Category, Diabetic option, Subject name in post-graduation exam.
3. ‘Apply for’ section: This section requires the following details-
   Post that you are applying for, i.e., Assistant Professor or JRF
   Exam center choices in the decreasing order of priority 
   Subject opted for UGC NET.
4. ‘Education Details’ section: fill in the following details.
   Post-graduation passing status
   Post-graduation qualified/qualifying from India or abroad.
   Post-graduation board/university name
   Post-graduation result mode
   Post-graduation course/stream name
   Post-graduation qualifying exam state
   Post-graduation year of passing/appearing
5. Research/ MPhil/ PhD/ Ex-Service Details:
   Research specializations (if any)
   Whether MPhil passed/appearing
   Whether an ex-serviceman
   Whether having research experience in the subject of post-graduation
   Whether Ph.D. passed/ appearing
6. Doctorate Details: Fill in if you are already a doctorate student
7. Security Pin: Fill in the security pin as shown in the image on the screen
8. After all the details mentioned above are filled, the candidate needs to click on the ‘submit’ button and review the details on the next screen. Then the candidate needs to click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.

Step-3: Upload Images and Signature

In this section, the candidate needs to upload their scanned photo and signature. The images to be uploaded should be in JPEG format.

• Size of photo: 10Kb < photo < 200Kb
• Size of signature image: 4Kb < photo < 30Kb

Step-4: Pay UGC NET Application fee

Candidates can pay the application fees through SBI/HDFC/Syndicate/ICICI/Paytm payment gateway (debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI).

The application fees for each category are mentioned below.

• General -> 1000/-
• EWS/OBC-NCL -> 500/-
• SC/ST/PwD/Transgender -> 250/-

Step-5: Download the Confirmation Page

After completing the application fee, a confirmation page will be generated. Candidates are required to save the confirmation page for any future reference.
